Zendragon's Sherlock Holmes Project

I look forward to seeing the final result in a few weeks. :D

Thanks Mark. Me too :)

I commissioned the Tom Baker Dr. Who Overcoat.. based off of the episode City of Death

Baker Frock Coat by Magnoli Clothiers

It fits like a glove and is simply the most amazing piece of clothing I own

I saw that up on the site, wow very very nice!!

^ yeah, I realised that when I gave it another look...sorry about that!

Hey thanks anyway, my knowledge of Victorian style clothing is limited, so anything people catch is a good thing. Fortunately in this case they are on the correct side although I think too far apart

I like it Keith, look forward to seeing how it all turns out.

Thank you Mirax!

me thinks zendragon's favorite actor is robert downey jr! :p

Hahaha, not my favorite. In this case, I loved the movie, been wanting some Victorian era style clothing for a while now and it helps that I kinda look like the guy. But don't look for me to do Chaplin any time soon. :lol

Looks great and now my wife wants me to do a lifesize for display.

The costumes from this movie were great. Watson's were really cool, actually my favorites.

looks awesome!

Thank you!

Couple of quick updates:

Bought a super cheap riding crop from EBay and you really do get what you pay for. But I redyed it and conditioned it and it came out decent

Holmes has a pretty specific belt, I was lucky to find something close. I didn't want to hand punch and stitch from scratch if I could avoid it.

So I tore out all the white stitching and dyed the belt black and then restitched it in red

Finally I wanted to get my new boots looking a bit more used. You can see them here opposite my "Indy" boots

And a little acetone, various grits of sandpaper and some alcohol later, they now look like this

I am so slow at getting pics posted, but... Sherlock Holmes got finished, and made it to Wonder Con in SF.

Couple things that I need to fix, so the Frock will be remade and the waistcoat will have its back panel changed to black Satin.

Overall though I think it came out pretty well.

Randy was Watson and our own LdyDarkStr was Irene Adler...

Looks great Zen! Though its slightly odd seeing Holmes as the tallest one.

Great choice of costume for you too. I love how you go the extra mile with the hair and facial hair. Even with your Stark, I think you're the only one I've seen do the goatee right. Kudos from the professional costumer sir!

Thanks everyone!

Darth, lol, Randy is slightly taller although it's not all that noticeable in the pics

Curse RDJ for being so small lol

And thanks!!
