You have never seen the Blade Runner blaster before - PHOTOS RESTORED

Will this help:

I think someone did a great job of analysing the sub-par screen caps and interpolating what the badge would look like.

In case you forgot . . . Phil's ID (click for large version)

That looks quite a bit different than the screen capture... hmmmmmmmm.... VERY interesting.

Well, that isn't going to go well. :confused

Phil, this occured to me to ask you while reading over the last couple of pages.

The fellow who owns this hero gun, is it the same fellow who owns the wallet you based your project on?

A phone call became wrath, just in this thread for instance. You paint quite a picture of the Blade Runner collectors. A paranoid and judgemental group who are lurking in the shadows, hating us, fearing we will somehow diminish the mystique of thier collections.
The collector who called me was very upset, as he'd just been upbraided over the phone by someone he really respects. I'd never seen or heard him so sad. So, I would suggest that 'wrath' was a good word to use. Of course, it's really only semantics.

<div class='quotetop'>(Noeland @ Sep 8 2006, 09:32 AM) </div>
And I just don't agree that you are treated so horribly on these boards. You defend yourself just fine when you need to, quite well in fact, and you never whelch on a deal, this is not in question at all. And niether is your history that keeps getting brought up. Everyone knows that despite your feelings, you will take money from anyone and deliver the best product to them you can, despite any outside stuff.
I think that's your personal opinion. I believe some people following this conversation would disagree with you.

Personally, I feel somewhat attacked. Of course, the players are the same. They simply don't like me, and never will. That's okay though. Dale Carnegie once said that if you can get 51% of the people to like you, it's an incredible accomplishment.

<div class='quotetop'>(Noeland @ Sep 8 2006, 09:32 AM) </div>
I don't know if it's your nature to be as dramatic as you come across on the boards, probably not. But people read into that in different ways, myself included, and some folks see through it. Not me so much. :)
If I'm being overly dramatic, I apologize.

Has Phil been wrong before? :love
Have I been wrong before? Just ask my wife.

No. They're different people.

Well, what about the pictures???? The screen grab looks nothing like the ID pictured. I think Phil said something earlier... what was it???

Oh:

"Provenance, provenance, provenance."

This thread went to crap fast. I missed all the fun.

I'm glad that I got captures of all the pictures I needed. Time to break out the Bulldog and one of my Steyrs (again) and retool my BR kit. Lets see, when do I rotate back to The World? :)

I think a nice, accurate pistol in the $75/kit range would be just ducky. Expecially if I threw in a free COP kit with every order :)

Couldn't have done it without the nice folks here, and unlike some cowards, I'm not afraid to actually produce no matter who whines at me ;)

I'm really confused. Ignoring all the ID issues, how did this thread get to be about Phil? I don't understand what his stake is in the gun pictures?

Phil, how do you get to lose anyone's respect when someone else takes photographs of the hero gun and uploads them to the RPF, and someone else again plans a replica based on them?

Did I miss something? Do your associates hold you responsible for events that are completeley out of your hands?

Yes. I'm certain that the ID I recreated matches the one seen in Deckard's hand.

Please Phil, do continue.

Juno,

That's great detective work. But that's not the only place the ID appears.

An enormous amount of material was made for the film (boxes full, I've been told). In the case of the wallet set, I reproduced the components that were given to me, and that set was put together when Ridley Scott gave the original owner the option to choose from a variety of pieces placed in front of him.

My sponsor, who eventually bought the set and then recently resold it, first saw the props in 1984. I never fabricated any details, as the set from which I worked is original.

But now, it seems that the ID I was given wasn't the screen-used one Deckard shows the police officers after dispatching Zhora. That doesn't prove, however, that the set I reproduced wasn't employed in the film. IÂ’m certain it was.

Until now, no one had any idea which props were used in the picture. With the release of the HD versions of the movie, answers to many of these questions will now be answered.

You find out it wasn't I suppose.

We were having some discussion about fakes being sold as originals in another thread. Perhaps that is the case here.

I just hope the owner got a decent price, because the new owner may well be very disappointed.

Phil, since you and I were not on set, I suppose we can't truly be certain of anything.

Let's assume there is no conspiracy. I would really like to know, from Phil, how the action of others compromises him. To me, that would make a lot a statements made here sound less, well, shady.

Let's assume there is no conspiracy.

Who told you to post that????

For me it's the timing, and it's the context of things that are troublesome. But this thread has devolved into nonsense and repetition (I am guilty of that myself).

I mean I'm participating in other threads that make fun of this thread. How often do we see that?

Nothing is going to happen, no one is going to come forward, and Phil isn't going to shed any light on any mysteries he hasn't already. He's just here to shield his buddy Richard as much as possible, and quite frankly that's admirable. It's infuriating to a degree, but hey.

Though I do appreciate him answering my question, the answer is what I figured. Still thought to ask it.

Rich has been asked an unanswered question several times now, including by the RPF staff, who may have a bigger stake in this than any of us by the end of this thread.

Hypothetical question.

Suppose one of the BRmafia decides the heat is on and wants to dispose of his blaster before a reproduction hits the market and the value of his drops like a rock. I purchase said blaster for a very hefty price. Now being the generous person I am, I take pictures and allow other to do the same and post them on the web. Do the remaining members of the BRmafia have any right to tell me I can't do this? Let's assume I was not told by the seller that I must never allow this object to see the light of day again and that it must be sealed away in a vault for all eternity so no one may enjoy it. Personally, I don't think the seller even has the right to tell me what I can and can't do with the object after I purchase it. I paid for it, it's mine and I can do what I want with it.
