Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Thanks fifth, I realize all the jackets he sales are made by Vanson. I figured it was an one off, I was just wondering if he had any of the other versions of Wolverine's jacket made through this company or another company as a custom one off. Probably not, it looks like whatever company he used did an excellent job on it!

Check regularly on his eBay page maybe? Dan gets a lot of jackets passing by him that he usually ends up selling there for reasonable prices...The one I picked up was good looking, and cheaper than I'd expected...So you can always snag a good deal there if you see it in time?

I've been following this thread for quite a while and finally decided to register.

I have some questions about the belts that were used. Though I read almost every post I didn't find enough information.

I know most of the times a regular brown belt was used that features round metal plates (I don't know the exact englisch term) on an extra triangle piece of belt. These are placed on the left on the front and on the back.

But in X1 I recognized a different belt which looks more like a military tech belt including rivets with holes.

I added some captures. Can you tell anything about this belt?

Hello, new member here.....just wanted to drop in really quick and ask - does anyone know where I can get a decent set of Wolverine claws that would fit my 7 year old's hands? Also something not too dangerous that he's going to hurt someone? I have a cheap $10 pair that I got at Halloween but they're made for bigger hands and I have to do some Photoshoping to get rid of the flesh colored hand parts when I take pics of him.

Also I'd rather not spend $150 on claws for my 7 year old. ;)

Thanks!

I have a thread that might help you with that. Look me up.

Wolverine X1 And Origins Belt Was Once Available from RPF Member Indy Magnol - Magnoli Clothiers

I sent a PM to Indy before and the belts may not be available for awhile. Once Indy does start makin' both designs again...
I'll be ready BUB! Should be on his website when he's runnin' both 'em again! SNIKT

Tutorial How To Make XO Belt Here! By : Solider - Wolverine Origins Belt Made Easy

Indy doesn't actually make the belts himself.....He got them made by Wade Egan, a good mate of mine....Wade's stopped working on leather though, so that road was closed..I believe that Indy had someone else making the leather gear for him, but they may be doing only the Indiana Jones leather work (It's easier to do than the Wolverine) so that might be the end of it..

If you'd like a great belt, I'd suggest my other good friend, Superdrool...Who makes the best belts I've seen outside of Wade....I'm not sure if he's still able to make them, but his are the best still being made..For sure...

Thanks for your help bub! I'll be happy to find out if he's whillin' to commission some belts for us Wolverine Fanatics! SNIKT

Yes. As I've told others. I've had to shift funds around and my time has been sparse for the hobby. But if/and when I do get around to it, I will definitely let everyone know. As I love making the belts and watchbands. I suppose keep an eye out in the next couple of months here and in the Junkyard...

Thanks for your answers, guys!

Does this mean the X0 belt is the brown one that can be selfmade by the tutorial
and the more tech like belt is the official X1?
Or are there are terms used for the different types?

Was Indy Magnol - Magnoli Clothiers the official manufacturer / deliverer for the movies
or responsible for replicas?

Either one of these belts can be made if you have the right measurements, a blank black or brown belt and the right hardware which is easy to find online or in a hardware/craft store.

X2/XO:
Two similar patches attached by double headed nickel rivets to the front right quarter and left rear quarter. Finished edges, dyed brown, added distressing and buffed, with a standard v-cut belt end.

X1:
Black or dark brown with 10 nickel grommets and nickel rivets (smaller than X2/XO). The start and end to the grommets are pretty much placed in the middle. Finished with an apex of same rivets at the end. Space of grommets is 2".

Tony, was the X2 belt the same as the Origins belt then? I'd missed that......If so, cool!

They look the same to me. I hadn't noticed that either fifthchamber, I always thought they were just similar.

Good eye superdrool and if or when you are able to do a run of belts, I would be interested in upgrading my belt. I have seen some of your belts, superdrool, and they look amazing; also Soldier did a great job on his X-O belt! I like mine, I just want something closer to Wolvie's mine is just a plain brown belt.

Yeah eh? That does indeed look like the same design, if not the same belt....

Interesting....And indeed, well spotted Tony....

Cool! So, at least my belt covers more than one movie! Glad to see that....I like the X1, but it's a little OTT for me to wear daily I think..The X2/Origins one is a nice balance for normal wear too...Although that doesn't mean I'd say no to an X1....Heh

I agree with fifth, the X-1 belt would draw more attention. haha Still a great belt design, but I prefer the X-2/X-O as well.
The X-3 belt is plainer and not as cool as the others...like the movie itself. lol Plus I missed the chief head when I saw X-3.

Note: sorry about the attached thumbnail, I'm not sure how I did that. I didn't mean to, but it is cool that you can seen the Levi's label on Hugh's jeans there. I realize that it is almost common knowledge that he wore Levi's 527.

All of the belts I think were made custom since we have been unable to find anything remarkably close to 'em...The only things that weren't made specifically for the wardrobe belt-wise were that tiger's eye logger buckle in XO and the indian head buckle.

I made a prototype of the pre-Weapon X/Logger Logan belt, that comonbub mentioned (The belt the tiger's eye is attached to). He did a couple of promo shots for XO in it, but switched out the buckle for the indian head (Sitting Bull). It wasn't spot on but the design was quite close. If anyone is interested I'll see if I can dig it up to post for you guys.

thats my next thing to do, get the side pieces with the studs on the belt. Anyway guys i had a blast at a Con this weekend, my Logan outfit isnt 100% screen accurate but im quite happy with it.

Also it was the first time i wore my new claws,

This set was made locally using one of my old resin cast ones as a template, the resin ones are usually wonky towards the tip and are really brittle so these have been individually cut on a machine out of rigid PVC foam, they are feather light and surprisingly tough ! i then painted them with plastikote brushed nickel which im really happy with, they have got a nice reflection on them at certain angles like the movie versions, not like polished stainless steel, i didnt want that sort of look, which would be impossible with plastic claws anyway.
