Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the hand plates for their wolverine claws?

From most of the pics I've found online... it just looks like two boards with notches in them for the claw bars and a screw/bolt squeezing both ends together... am I over simplifying things?

I've made some. I'll post the pics later today

Mid october & my area is getting freeze warnings a couple times a week! :cry
What's the turnaround on an XO from Wolverinejacket? I'm trying to figure out my measurements so I can get something heavier than my cheapie pleather Route66 lol thanks in advance \\\ ///

Well, here we go...

Not a good pic, I had my hair flared out but the angle isn't the best.
But I also dyed my facial hair (using a wash out eyelash brush)
Also wearing brown contacts.

Professor X tries explaining to Wolverine that his powers are a liability in this sketch that debuted during "The Pete Holmes Show" panel at New York Comic Con.

S'funny... BUB! *SNIKT*

That is funny. I wished Wolverine would turned it around on him on and been like "why can't you find Magneto and your powers are completely useless on him when he has his helmet on and for that matter you can't seem to detect any of the other members of the Brotherhood, Mystique came and poisned cerbro and you didn't notice her. What happens if you need to go up and down stairs? Your wheelchair is made of metal, I know you have that cool plastic one, but what if Magneto surprises you? You can also be mind controlled into killing all mutants and humans and you are supposedly the strongest mind on earth. Also, you were friends with Magneto and Mystique, you suck at making friends." Professor X is pretty much useless in the movies now that I think about it. It is just a spoof though. haha

Love the X1....Get that worn in some and it'll just get better...Very cool looking jacket!

I've ordered an X0 and an X3 from Dan now, so depending on the time he takes to make the X0 (the X3 was already "built"), I may have it by the start of November, just in time for Christmas this year! Yay!

I wiped it down with acetone, did some rubbing alcohol, sandpaper, pics don't really show the weathering but the more I look at the actual jacket the more I want to keep distressing it...could be a slippery slope!

Hahah...It's an issue..I own a 5 year old Vanson X1, and despite it having been worn heavily during that time, it's still only "marginally" distressed....They wear extremely well..Unless you take sandpaper to it, you won't really notice much change at all I suspect..

I favour natural distressing though, so I'd never wish to do that on my own...I don't think it's needed...(And like ya say, "slippery slope"...)..

Good luck with it though! Please post pics with any details you find to have worked!

Wolverine Claw Handle

I went to the hardware store in the isle that has door and window wood joining pre-cut metal hardware. I started out with 2 thinner pieces, but found that my hand could grip them enough to keep the position I wanted and gravity pulled them down a little rotating them in my hand down. I then went back to the hardware store and got wider pieces. I then used the wider pieces for the top half of the handle and the thinner for the bottom. I scored groves in both pieces to hold the wires, drilled holes where I needed them. Purchased screws with locknuts and mole skin. everything was around $10 -$15 total. The wider pieces of the top part of the handle I cut one of the corners off, clamped them in a vice and bent the remaining corner to match my closed hand. see the pics below Claws are "The Wolverine" claws from http://www.therpf.com/f13/darkside5...wolverine-claws-halloween-approaching-159506/ best claws out there! (Also have his bone claws and i'm using the same custom handle I made on both sets.)

My first handle pieces prototype.

My final handle (in the pic I had not added the mole skin yet.) These are very comfortable (with mole skin) and the keep the claws solid on my hand where I want them. Also the lock-nut and metal handle have cut groves that hold the round wires tight and keep them from rotating.

I'm liking the jacket more and more. It looks great here.

So agreed....The jacket is going to be great....I can't wait until Dan starts offering these..The back details alone are brilliant....

The belt buckle is an interesting choice this time out, but not in a bad way...I'd have preferred the metal Chief's head, but ah well....Variation is no bad thing...The jacket is great..
