Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

I'm ordering my second jacket from wolverinejacket.com. Whats awesome is that I already have one in slandered size Medium. It fits well. But it could be just a little better, so based off the jacket I have I'm changing a few things by an inch for a perfect fit. My next jacket will not have the slight stripped pattern also :D On a side note, I have asked about altering the inside pockets to hold claws. I have submitted measurements and Wade(wolverinejacket.com) is checking with the distributor to see if they can accommodate. If not on the pockets, no big deal, but it would be nice for the cons.

In Dan's defense, I have to say, having just ordered from him, that his communication, while a touch slower than some of the superfast companies out there, is still superb....I emailed him first about three weeks ago, and have received constant replies and other emails showing me what he's thinking about the jacket I ordered from him (A distressed X0 in middleweight leather I'm happy to say!)

He's the man in jackets...And the products speak for themselves......Give him a little more time email-wise, and you'll end up with a jacket that no one else, anywhere, can beat for Wolverine...Those are simple facts..The best there is at what he does...Although what he does is pretty brilliant this time out....

Just for the record..

No....He's exaggerating....The price is still 615 dollars more or less...Plus shipping....I suspect he meant with all the frills added...Dan's work on distressing is great, and entirely worth the cash he charges, but it does push the overall price up, naturally....

I wanted mine to be conditioned by Dan, so I'm happy to pay the extra, since it means I'll get a jacket that I love right off the bat, and don't need to mess with myself, but even then I didn't pay 900..And that's with shipping to Japan..So...Yeah, just exaggeration..

Did you order a custom build. I've been trying to get info from Dan on some lighter weight leathers for some time. I'm in SoCal and the comp weight is too heavy for most of the year. Any info would be great. I'll e-mail Dan again.

Thanks.

It's not a custom built jacket, it's a standard 44, but with a middleweight leather than Dan had on hand. I'm in Japan, and yes, here too, the heavyweight is only really useful during the very middle of winter...And since I had the X1 in that comp. weight, Dan talked me round with my full agreement to the middleweight leather.......

I'm expecting it to be somewhat heavier than my Wested X0, but not quite as thick and heavy as my X1, but I'll know more when it arrives..

I'm not exaggerating. Unless you've seen my order details and know my expense and email history with Logan's closet I would kindly ask you not to label me an exaggerator/ liar. I went 2 months with no reply by Facebook phone or email until just the other day... If you had a smooth and easy transaction I'm happy for you. I however have not been so lucky. There have been times he's really been fast and helpful but I've spent more time in the dark than anything. And just to clear this up mine came to $905.00 it was $755 for the coat with necessary alterations to sleev and waist length and $150 for distressing....... So I in no way was I exaggerating.

No...You weren't exaggerating...But you'd asked for changes to a jacket, and distressing....And you're complaining about having to pay for those? I don't really understand that.....I agree though, not exaggerating, apologies for that....You're just complaining about the details you've asked him to change for you being costly...

Which makes a little less sense...That's all...

And I most certainly didn't call you a "liar"...Please don't put words in my mouth....

Still, that said..Apologies for offending you...

I'm not complaining about the price. I'm complaining about the bad communication. $900 is a lot of money and when you're in the middle of working out your sizing after paying all that money and the contact comes to an abrupt halt, that's not cool.... If I thought $900 was to much I would have walked away. But I think the product is well worth it. Like I said my issue is the bad communication.

Yeah, Dan's pretty much a one man team.....Until that changes, that means he'll be hard to reach sometimes, depending on the comic con's he's doing and the other promotional work he has to do selling jackets at conventions (plus holidays and rest days for himself naturally)...

I wouldn't be too hard on the guy...He really is doing it all off his own back, and hell, let's be honest, there are some emails I can't always reply to, and I'm not even that busy...

It might also be the case that once paid, Dan considers the order finished, so he'll just be working on it until it's done....Then shipping it out...So any emails in the waiting time after that aren't "high priority", but who knows?

I've had much the same experience, not super rapid response times, but that's ok....I have hats made by Steve Delk of the Adventurebilt company, and so I KNOW "long wait times and no contact".....Heh...Dan is still quick in comparison....Heh..

just heard back from heron, my custom x1 should be finished by the end of the month. i have asked if they have any progress pictures, if they send me some i will upload them. ill post pics and review once i get it. hopefully sometime in early november, just in time for winter.

TheWolverine, thanks man. That was what I was afraid of I sent them a email to that address about a week ago about a X-1 and never heard back from them. Wade at wolverinejacket.com responded back to me, but they only do the X-O, which I have thought about. I just think the X-O would get more attention out in public. Another thing is from taking measurements from a jacket that fits me well and the sleeves are 26in and the length is 27in (from bottom of the collar to end of the jacket) which is contestant with the medium on the wolverinejackets.com jacket but my chest measurement is only 40 inches (I'm 6'2" and skinny). The chest measurement on the medium is 46 inches, I know I can order a custom sized jacket from either Heron or wolverinejackets.com I'm just not sure what to go with my chest measurement, because I will probably wear my jacket with flannel or button up shirts when it gets colder. I want a jacket that looks good when it's wore with t-shirts or flannel. I also think that Heron's X-1 in thick leather is $350, not sure about the shipping. I that the wolverinejackets.com jacket is $350 shipping and everything and we can get $25 off with the Soldier discount. I have just been back and forth on which jacket to go with.

Length might be a touch too short though? It looks like that stops just below the hips....The one in the movie was a touch longer than that I thought....
Might just be the photo though....

Good eye...the movie coat stops exactly at the knees. I bought the full-length 42R and it was too long by 8 inches or so. I just bought the 3/4 length 42R and it hasn't arrived yet. It should be perfect for my body shape. If not there is a 42L or of nothing else the full length can be easily hemmed to the correct length. It's a really nice coat, esp for $100. Thanks China!

100 dollars isn't too bad!

I think raincoats are mostly fairly similar, so the exact brand will be hard to get spot on, but the small details match and I'd say you're all good..Get the length of this one ok, and yeah! You're doing well enough I reckon!

Which reminds me, I still have to get my arse to the Zojoji and take some photos in black at the temple! Sometime soon I hope!

Now HELP HELP HELP! Where's this mysterious blackish or bluish canvas belt with the strange buckle? Is is a real buckle or is it a faux buckle that works on compression? I don't see any holes in the belt??

does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the hand plates for their wolverine claws?

From most of the pics I've found online... it just looks like two boards with notches in them for the claw bars and a screw/bolt squeezing both ends together... am I over simplifying things?
