Ohh.....And the X2? Seriously jealous.......

I'm waiting on a Wested X-0.....Although this X-1 is SOOOOOOO bloody good that I'm almost beyond thinking it would work anywhere near as well...

We'll see...I liked the X-0 design...But the quality of Dan's Vanson is an eye-opener.....And sadly, that means I may have to go crazy and start buying GREAT leather jackets like all you lot....My girlfriend leaves me and I'm going to blame some of the people in this room..... :behave:lol:lol

Wait, didn't it come with the broken off snap??? Now Idk if it's you I sold my X1 to. Looks like you fixed it if it was you I sold it to...Confusion...

Mine was from "Mechanic" via "Bannister" over on FJ.com....Mechanic's was a custom make, no liner snaps, no inside pocket, no underarm airholes, and custom liner....

The jacket was shown by him in this thread; &bull; View topic - "X-Men" Logan/Wolverine Jacket

And honestly hasn't really changed much....

If you're "comonbub" over on FJ.com then no, this isn't your jacket? Although I think I remember looking at yours before it was sold to someone else!!

No worries! With all the similar jackets flying about it's hard to notice from badly taken photos!

And "work of art" is about right.....I really can't say enough about the quality of these jackets...I didn't deal with Dan direct, but sent emails asking about size and he seems like a man who loves what he sells...I can see why...These jackets are the best I've seen and I was lucky in the sizing of mine being so right...

Mechanics jacket is a work of art. A lot of forethought went into that jacket. The removal of snaps to keep them from poking out the front( which is an eye sore) sizing, and that rip stop liner that all jackets shoulde really have in them.

Got it Dan. It seemed like the comment was targeted at me. Timing I guess.
 
Yes...I can tell that it's "special"....Honestly, that made me feel even luckier to have managed to buy it and better still, FIT it! I was glad for that, since even in the photos it looked like one SOLID jacket...

I haven't seen any of LC's other X jackets....But this one has me wanting an X-0 from them.....Dammit....I'll see how good the Wested I have on order turns out, but if that is somewhat of a let down I'll think about passing that one on and using the cash and some extra to send to Dan for a custom X-0 from him...

Claws I'm still a way off getting...But once the Cap. America shields have been done I think Chris can help me on that front! Which gives me about a year to get some hair....(I shave it since I hate the hassle in the mornings...LOL)..

The rip-stop lining is lovely...Really interesting..I thought, looking at it that it'd be too hot and sticky, but it's actually a lot more breathable than my other Westeds...Even in a shirt it needs to be higher than mid-20's to break a sweat....Although the leather is so heavy I'm not expecting this jacket to get air-time from about June to September in Japan....Ah well...Still....

Winter is coming.....(And I need more Game Of Thrones!)

Dog tag update:

Not exactly the update I was wanting to give but the reason the rep has not been giving me a quote is due to finding a factory who can do what I want.

I am hoping it might be a communication error. In the last email, she stated she could not find a company to do the steel tags unpolished in order to do the antiquing process.

However, I never asked for unpolished, I asked for un-plated. From my experience with the unplated brass BSG tags, they had to polish them in order to remove surface flaws. Now do not get polishing confused with polished plating. In polished plating, the polish look is forever as long as the plating is not worn off. With a polished un-plated surface, the polish is temporary and wears off with use/age or by simply using a high grit wet sandpaper.

I have emailed them to clarify.

I know what you mean. I love the XO at Logan's Closet however the price tag is a bit high for me which is why I been hoping that Jeggs would show up again to answer some questions.

I got too many Leather jackets. I got about 5 leather jackets (size 40/M) I would sell off if I thought any one would pay a decent price for.

Brand spanking new. Nothing done to it. I'm going to distress it considering I didn't have enough to ask him to do it.There's something about distressing it yourself that makes it more better but that's just me. I'll post before and after pics and no, I'm not ripping the left stripe off :p. Btw, your X1 belt is getting everso closer to my doorstep so I'll have more to look forward to :D

Hmm.. Let's see

  1. Black hip length with leather tie belt. soft but heavy.
  2. Classic black motocylcle jacket (zippers, snaps, belted)
  3. Black Minority Report replica
  4. Black cycle jacket with red/orange stripes down the sleeves
  5. Black waist length collar-less flap closure (think Trek movie jacket) has a cool stiched/quilted design on the shoulders.
  6. Brown (weathered) waist jacket (this is actually a size 38R). (think Airforce style but leather elastic waist band, leather snap cuffs, velcro pocket flap closure. No snaps on the collar). I got it back in 1986 because it reminded me of Macgyver's)
