Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Just for $hits and giggles, I recently acquired a Red Monkey vintage watch with chocolate X-Strap, same exact model as seen on Hugh Jackman in X2 and X3. I've been wanting one of these for years and so I set off to make many prototypes of my own, and now happy with my current design and doing runs with that design. Able to have extra funding now, I am happy to share the two finally next to each other:

*double post*

Glad to hear others are meeting Dan, and he's doing well out there at the convention scenes.
Can't wait to see all the cool photos that pop up after the dust settles.

I received my X-3 from Dan and it is a really, really AMAZING jacket !!! Worth the price and a great service from Dan.

Thanks again for that marvellous product.

Fred

Back from Comic Con for the second day. Here are a few pictures. One is me trying on an X-2. The second is me in a Spider-Man costume with someone who looks an awful lot like Wolverine.

I showed some of the first set of pictures to a friend who wasn't there, and the first thing he said is, "That's from the X-Men movie!" I just said, "Yes, it is."

This is my first post and I created this account solely for the purpose of asking this question here since this thread seems active; I do intend on staying.

This question is aimed at superDrool but I'll take help from anybody willing to point me in the right direction. Where can I buy claws like superDrool's? I've spent the last 6 hours looking and I can only find the metal replicas. Since carrying around sharp blades doesn't go well with authorities, I've been searching for a pair of claws just like superDrool's.
Halloween is near and Wolverine is the only character I can see myself being, so time is crucial since I will need to receive everything I need by mail prior to Halloween.

Thanks in advanced, I will be checking this thread some time tomorrow. Hope to receive help!

OMG Dan! I want an X2 now!!!

IFA, that X3 looks great and the fit is sopt on. Great choice, now all you need is the proper belt. :p (which will be on it's way very, very soon.)

Thanks for the update, MJF. The Bergamont buckle is the right design but the casting is a little too large for the SA buckle. No one will really notice, as I'm only talking a fraction of an inch here and there. :lol

Yeah about as much as the watchband. I got my XO belt from Mags and it was awful in color. I had to do a dye job to it.

Hi Tony.
Yes, you're right...I really need a spot on belt to go along with that spot on jacket :lol
Waiting with great impatience for my new belt.

I know. Everyone is impatient as Halloween is just around the corner, and I have to ship it to you overseas. So I hope it gets to you in time. :)

So gents im back with great news, ditched the plexi based and got steel based ones. the seller refunded my money as soon as I confronted him on the craftsmanship being dead on, plus the metal ones costed me a fraction of the 150.00 intially for the plexi. Have alot of my costume together, like I stated before doing a very closet based costume, brown natural heavy leather bike jacket, blue jean underjacket, plaid button shirt, tonys x-2 belt, either a custom x buckle from david or I also have a unpainted american chief buckle. main thing Im working hard on is hair styling and groomin my chop for that comic wolverine look.

I just received some additional info on this jacket from the Ebay
seller.

He ordered it directly from Vanson at the factory in 2003 when he
graduated the police academy in New York. He said he paid $500.
It was distressed from the factory and he did some further
distressing with sandpaper. He outgrew the jacket and decided to
pass it along.

I gave it a second leather lotion today and it is softening up nicely.
This is going to be a great backup to Dan's X1.

OK, I took a chance and did a buy it now on the Vanson jacket that
someone here posted the link to last weekend. It had a 3 day return
so I figured the most I would be out was return shipping. Seller had
posted 2 very dark (crappy) pics. I asked about the label markings
and she described a standard Vanson label (not Logan's Closet).

It arrived today and I snapped a couple of pics. Looks genuine
Vanson. It has Vanson zippers and the serial number stamped
on the leather border on the inside pocket.

It's a 42, my X1 from Logan's Closet is a 44. The 44 feels just a
bit large on me. The 42 fits me but there is no room for much layering
underneath. Fits more like a sport bike jacket than a street jacket
in this size on me.

It's well broken in and the seams on the sleeves and zippers have some
wear, but I don't think it was intentionally distressed. Nice and soft
makes me look forward to when my 44 is actually broken in.

There is a small 1 inch horizontal tear in the liner just below and
to the left of the label.

I hope Dan will chime in and let me know when this jacket may have
been made. Obviously prior to Logan's Closet labels. The stripes are
much lighter than Dan's current X1's. Also the sleeve expanders are the
same color as the stripes while my new 44 X1 from Dan has them the
main jacket color.

It also has a extra male snap on the inside of the collar so you can fold the
collar flap back and snap it to hold it in place. My Vanson Cobra sport rider
jacket has this same arrangement while my Dan's X1 does not.

Any thoughts or comments?
