Love the idea comonbub looks like it will be awesome when finished; it honesty looks like a perfect cross of Wolverine's costumes from the comics!

My new X-1 Vanson...lightly distresses by me (not done yet) picked up the flannel and denim jacket at the thrift shop on Friday...just need a better set of claws.

Any tips on painting the belt buckle I may have missed in this thread? what type of paint and did you clear coat it?

But I will say this, this is my 3rd wolverine jacket and last...The vanson is the best...and the cut makes you look like a beast in the upper body...then you add the flannel and denim...and you look like a man not to be messed with...claws will also help:rolleyes
Seriously though this jacket is top notch...all the stitching and zippers are heavy duty and the fit is awesome...also twice as heavy as the wested I owned.

Looks awesome. I'd love to have a Vanson X-1, but the ridiculous long wait time, and the virtually non-existent communication between Dan and his customers, I'd never buy one unless it was one that came up on eBay

Despite Dan's lack of communication about the jackets with customers, I'd put money on the Vanson being the best Wolverine jacket there is out there on sale at the moment....Owning one really puts it all in perspective...They're scarily good jackets...The fit is perfect to make you look in better shape than you are, and the colours, and weight of the skin makes the jacket more solid, better able to hold up, and better looking than all the other jackets out there I've seen to date...

That doesn't mean that the others aren't great too.......The Vanson's are expensive and take a long time to arrive, and if those are prohibitive, then there are several decent shops I'd use over Vanson....But if you can afford it, and have the time, the Vanson jacket is the only jacket you'll need until you die....

I wish Dan replied quicker too....I had some cash a while back for jackets, and sent an email to him about buying an X-0.....But he didn't reply (still hasn't), and I decided to spend the cash on something a little more definite......It's a shame, as I'd still like an X-0...But it's an issue when you can't reach the seller easily.....And a shame, especially since the actual jackets are so damned good....

Ah well....

I recently got a Vanson X1 from Dan last month and the communication could have not been any more perfect. I emailed on a tuesday, replied within the hour, paid on a Friday and got my Jacket on a Monday!!! probably the best jacket I've ever ordered with the fastest shipping to boot. I plan on buying 1 of his X-men hoodies soon at some point as he has them in stock.

He did have a few Vanson's in stock which would explain the fast turnaround on my order so I feel lucky. I surely recommend him if anyone has ever wanted a good Vanson.

Try him again, keep trying until you get word, just be nice about it. That's what I did at least.

Nah...Sadly I spent the 800 dollars I'd saved on a flight back home this summer....I guess that WAS the best thing to do, since I already have a Vanson, and just wanted the other for myself....So it's probably "good for me".....But a small part of me wished he'd replied quicker...LOL..That's all....

I'm fine with the X1 alone...

I'd say that time spent with family back home trumps a Vanson jacket any day, you made a wise choice.

Hehe...Yeah...You're right...Having been home, I'd never think otherwise...I missed them all so much...And it was great to see them...And easier than I'd imagined too actually, so yeah, in the long run, it IS better than another Wolverine jacket....No doubt...

But I'll start saving now for the jacket I think...I've been collecting 500yen coins and still have about 130,000 yen in those saved up...Which would cover the jacket...But I'd like to have a safety barrier...Just in case March finds me out of a job again...(Japanese companies rarely hire foreigners for more than a yearly contract, which means I'm always worried about jobs come March...Meh..)

Thanks mate...You're right, it was the best move.

Also! I've been talking with Tony and he'd asked to see photos of the large and medium Zimmerli shirts for comparison....I'll have those photos by tonight I hope, so I'll send them to him and then upload them here as well, so people can see the difference...

I happen to think the look is better with a tighter fitting vest, since it pulls in at the right points, and clings to the chest better, making the nipples showing through seem less "odd"? If that makes sense.....I had the large, but ordered the medium to compare, and since it's arrived, I prefer the smaller, tighter size...Makes sense to show people here the difference I think, since we're the only ones who care about it!

Regards..

Hmm....To be honest, the way I wear them makes them both look rather similar....The large is wider, so the front of the vest drops down naturally to mid chest rather than staying high on the chest as I prefer...The medium is naturally tighter, so fits better there and stays at the top of the chest without my pushing it up there....I prefer the medium....

This is the medium....

This is the large...

Not really a huge difference because of the way I wear em'....But over a day, the large will slip down and the medium won't...Basically..

Bugger all help to everyone here really! Sorry about that...LOL....Sod it...Here's a photo of me at the recent Harajuku Iron Man Exhibition for Hot Toys...They had the whole set from Tony's house brought over! It was brilliant!

The set and the hall of Armour....

Me, messing about in Tony's house...He wasn't home to kick me out......Heh...

Nice to see shots of the Zimmerli shirts, it's hard to tell the difference between the medium and the large. And I have to say that the fit of your X1 looks perfect!

DAMN!!!!!! that jacket fits you like a glove!!!! The entire outfit is insane! And the Tank!!! How much does that tank run if you don't mind me asking? I've looked into it and found it between $80 -$120 and was hoping you found a better price. I also assume that is a Vasion X1? I need more disposable income :(

That jacket does indeed look awesome. Flynn has one too - with a master distress job. I have to also back up Logan's Closet. Even if the communication isn't the best for some folks, you end up with a spectacular product. And in my experience, Dan really went the extra mile to be sure I got what I wanted. In fact, I am planning on making a third LC purchase in the near future.

80 is as cheap as you're gonna get. As an owner of 2 mediums, I can say that they are not worth it to buy again. To the regular person, they wouldn't tell the diffrence between the Zim and a regular white tank. But that's just me.

The jacket is a great one....No doubt there at all....Yeah, it's a Vanson X1..Best jacket I own (heaviest too actually, but not hot either, a result of the special inside lining that was put in)...

The Zimmerli I got for 7000 yen, so about 70 dollars......They aren't common in Japan, so I had to search, but I've been told that they sell them on Amazon too, for about 8000 yen...So it's not so bad either way....Sadly, coming from Japan, with the shipping, it'd be more than you'd be able to find in the US I suspect....But for me it's not such a bad price that I'm stopped from the buy...

Interestingly, Dan wrote back to me yesterday, and has a 44 sized X0 that he's already started working on for distressing, so....I may have a new jacket coming sometime soon....He's going to send me some photos of the one he has, and see what I think...Although, it'll be hard to resist once I see it I reckon....We'll see eh?

Looks wise, yeah...I own a couple of (cheaper) vests that would be taken by most of the general public to be Wolverine's....However, Zimmerli's selling point isn't so much on how they look, but how they feel to the wearer....And that DOES make them special....They're lighter, easier to wear, quicker drying, and softer than all the other vests I've owned...And that's rather a feat....Useful as well, considering they're "underwear", not meant to be worn alone so much.....They're perfect for the role....I'm not entirely sure they're worth 70 dollars...But I don't object to paying that considering the quality of the garment I got....Basically....

If you have the money, these will be a quick favourite in your collection....If you don't, you could find a simple white vest for a lot cheaper that would work....It just depends on you and your level of funds......

In my opinion.....I'd also (re) caution that they're not designed to be worn without a shirt over them...The cotton is light, but thin and prone to rip easily when snagged or pulled, so you might want something sturdier for conventions or film work perhaps...Unless you're a millionaire.. Heh..

Regards..

OK guys - I am officially finally ordering a Heron X1, but I am having two issues:

1. Their current X1 pattern has curved sleeves, but they will do straight sleeves for me for extra $ - I *think* straight is the way to go for an X1 but would love to know definitively.

2. They have my body measurements and a photo of me, but to be sure, they want measurements of a jacket or something that fits me really well. But, I don't have anything that fits me really well, not the way I'd want a wolverine jacket to fit (like fifth's) for sure. WTF can I do.

Cheers
