Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

So, I wore the Wolverine Raiders for three weeks and multiple days working on concrete. My feet were killing me both days. Today I wore normal boating shoes and my feet were fine.

I'm not sure if it's the boots or just me. I've owned wolverine's before and they killed my feet. I was hoping it was just those boots but maybe it's wolverines in general for my feet.

I'm not sure what the break in time is for a pair of these but it kinda sucks as there's no way I can return them now. Oh well. Maybe it's just a temporary thing.

I don't know what to tell ya. I've had mine for 4 weeks and live in the city and haven't experienced any problems at all. I put gel soles in so that may help. I walk about 5 miles a day and have no feet problems. The boots overall have scored 4.5 stars out of 5 on a few websites out there so don't think it's the boot itself.

I have fought with my feet for years. I worked Jobs that had me standing for 8 to 10 hours. I wanted to cut my feet off at times. I tried different shoes, insoles, everything I could try. Sure, some of the shoes and insoles gave me longer periods of relief , but after a few hours or more,my feet would start to kill.

I held a desk job for a few years which was awesome not to have to stand all day. But now I work retail while I got to school. As soon as my job started my feet were now unbearable. The insoles that worked the best(but still not great) were the Doc. Scholl's that you get from standing on the foot mapping pad. It said I had flat feet. You can have to high arches or flat arches. Even normal arches doesn't Greentree all shoes will be comfy. The problem is that the arch support could be not high enough, or if you have flatter feet you compress it to much. After time most shoes support gets worn down over time and you should get new ones.

But What I found that gives me all day relief to the point where I can stand for 10 hours plus in any shoe or boot, is custom orthopedic insoles. I had to go through a podiatrist. They are the actual shape of the bottoms of my right and left foot in a relaxed position. They are Hard plastic with no give. I easily put them from shoe to shoe, and now any shoe is perfectly comfy for me. It's like a dream come true. I even thought to use a thin layer of gel or insert with no arch, just a pad to give some give. When I tried this it hurt my feet. Just the custom hard insert makes standing all day not an issue. They did coast around $300 but with insurance it was around $80. Doc' Scholl's were $50. I highly recommend trying this to anyone with issues with shoes. It might be the answer to your prayers.

Some people need a week or tow to get used to the custom insole depending on there foot issue. I technically have flexible flat feet. When my foot is relaxed I have a perfect arch. When I stand, the weight of my body flattens out my arch. Because the custom insert is the same shape of my foot in a relaxed position, I didn't have any adjustment period. They helped my foot pian the moment I out them in.

But some people have perfect feet where anything seems comfy. To those people I say, you luck SOB :)

Am I imagining things or is the X-O jacket a slimmer fit than the X-1? I know Hugh had a lot of layers under the jacket in X Men and so required an oversized jacket but the jacket in X-) looks to be tapered in towards the waist, giving it a more streamlined and lean look.

As in here.

Compared to here.

I've just checked Logan's Closet and compared the pics between the two jackets and that too looks to be more fitted too:

X-1

It sounds like you and I have been through similar experiences. I've never had problems with my feet until the past 5 or so years and it's just been pretty bad at times.
I've worked a lot of jobs on my feet and I did finally go to a Podiatrist...he recommended the custom soles as well but said the insurance wouldn't cover it, I might have to look into that though as I have new insurance.

The Doc Scholls said I had flat feet but I have very high arches...so I didn't believe it. I might lookinto that again as well.

It was so bad the other night I could barely walk at all....this weekend I wore my boating shoes instead with plastic inserts and I was fine. OH well...

ANd who knows, maybe it's just how Wolverines are made that my feet don't like....not that the're not great boots. I think it's just my feet.

I've not had problems with the Wolverines....Or any other boots I own..So yes, it might be that (likely to be that actually..Given the general consensus)..

I also own some Alden 405's, and still rate those as my most comfortable boots to walk in..They manage to spread the weight so well that my feet get tired long after the rest of me does...But my Wolverines are now close seconds, and in many ways better, since the grip is a touch better, and the steel toe helps when needed as well...

It sounds bad that you guys don't have the same experience...But it might be something as simple as a slightly wider or tighter boot, or an insole in the position you need to make your feet "conform" slightly better to the boot and the floor?

Either way, sorry for you guys...That sucks..But I'm sure it's something that can be worked out...

In my own case, they're stunning shoes...Well built, solid, dependable and comfortable...And I'd rate them way higher than my Timberlands...And (for me) more comfortable than my Red Wings.....(I don't like the flat soles....But the boots are great as boots..Just not what I like..)

Regards to all..And Merry Christmas!

Not that I know of.... I've sent about 5 emails to Jorge at Heron over the last 2-3 months, and heard absolutely nothing back at all. A couple weeks ago I sent an email to the general Heron address asking how to better reach him for a custom order. They replied a few days or so later and asked what I was looking for, I forwarded them all the emails I sent Jorge. That was almost two weeks ago, never heard back at all....
I'm surprised of their complete lack of response this entire time. I have read on here how they have excellent customer service, but I just haven't seen it at all...
Very disappointed.

Wade at WolverineJackets.com on the other hand has been amazing at responding to my many, many numerous emails and questions. Can't say enough about his customer service.

We are trying to get together 10 people to order the Origins jacket from them with the more screen accurate bottom of the back. So far it looks like we have three people, if you are interested at all! :)

Much appreciated for the info, DBone.:)

However, I'm more interested in the X2 or X1 than the XO. I'm trying to explore all avenues to get one of those before I even try to go for an XO. Plus, I've heard from various people (as well as read on here) that the XO is more for taller, slimmer builds. And at 5'5" and stocky, I just wouldn't be able to do that jacket justice.:lol

Jacket update!

I've been recognized at the mall by a vendor. He said " Hey, that looks like Logan's jacket from X men".

Also at Work, I arrived on a snowy day and was asked" You didn't ride your bike into work?"

The jacket is universally recognized due to it looking so close to the X1 jacket. Unless your a true fan boy you would not see a difference. Also I guess to a non-comic book fan it looked like a biker jacket. Check and check :). I get a lot of looks at college, but everyone is in a hurry to get to class no one has stopped to say anything.

Here are some out on the town pics in very cold weather.

Damn.... Though I'm still standing by my opinion of the fit I stated above, I'm suddenly getting the urge to lean towards this jacket. Love the pics, and the jacket is ace.

I had a hoodie on under it in 2 pictures and a scarf in the other. It was darn cold and the jacket is awesome for fall weather, but for winter, it needs a little extra. I like having fun with it and seeing what I can layer with it.

I wonder if Wolverinejackets could make one of the jackets with a shorter overall length? Is so, you could be one of the ten needed to add the screen accurate dip in back. I was talking to Wade before on his jacket fit and he has a size close to the Small one but with adjustments added to fit him . The site says for $25 extra size alteration are possible on sizing.

When I had asked him about making it more screen accurate by shortening the torso and adding the dip on the back he said he would do that at no extra charge. However, that was before the whole 'you need 10 people to make a change' thing. So, I couldn't say weather or not he will be charging more for the SA changes.

On the site it said size alterations for $25. Adding a dip could possibly involve changing a die or something that is set to make the non-dip jacket leather piece. That might be harder the taking away material for a size alteration. But you would have to e-mail him for size changes. We know what it will take to get the dip.

I agree, Solider. From the communications that I had with Wade, I believe it was changes to the pattern (adding the dip in the back or anything else that would change the look of the jacket) that would require at least 10 people to get done. Custom size orders (sleeve length, shoulder length, any of the "normal" dimensions) are still possible for the $25 charge. Those don't change the look of the jacket and require any true changes, just adjustments to the pattern, rather than changes to it.

Also, he told me that he has found another supplier to possibly work with. His main focus right now is improving the web site, so that the site does a better job at conveying the quality product he is selling, making it a much more premium web site, to match the quality levels of the jacket and his customer service (I cannot say enough great things about his customer service!). That is occupying the majority of his time right now.
Once that is complete, he plans on working with the new manufacturer to get all the details down with them on their jacket. It is going to be a process, and isn't going to happen overnight, but it looks like he will get there.

cool image, shame it doesnt give us any thing to work with costume wise (bar beefing the heck up to look that manly lol )

I think the claws in "the wolverine" look a lot more like the comic book claws, besides they have to change things up just to keep things fresh, he'll probably have a new jacket as well despite his origins jacket being so cool.

Does anyone know how long the ball chain was on the X-1 dog tag? I recently purchased one, and right now I have it on a 27.5 in. chain with a smaller chain connecting the tag to the longer chain (similar to the movie).
