What's Up with Fire Fly Coins

I was going to list my Fire Fly Coins in the Junkyard but when I checked eBay to determine a good price I discovered that some of the coins are selling for a lot.

I can't seem to figure out why.

If you search eBay for "China Coin" you should see a lot of the coins from this image

Oddly enough, I can't find any on ebay at all. I type in "china coin" and nothing, "chinese coin", nada. Looks like they may have messed up the site even further somehow... :confused

Must have been a temporary glitch. A few minutes ago I couldn't search for anything at all. There were a few posts about it on Ebay's forums as well. Seems to be working now.

And your quite right, some of those coins are going from pretty high. I wonder if it's because they're silver?

Silver Prices (or all metals for that matter)

Rough rounding...

2002 ~ $4.30 an ounce
2003 ~ $4.90 an ounce
2004 ~ $6.50 an ounce
2005 ~ $7.25 an ounce
2006 ~ $11.00 an ounce
2007 ~ $13.00 an ounce
2008 ~ $15.00 an ounce
2009 ~ $15.00 an ounce
2010 ~ $20.00 an ounce
2011 ~ $35.00 an ounce

Price of silver is up 800+% since 2002, when did you originally purchase?

A few years back I found a guy at the local flea market selling these coins for ridiculously low prices... I'm guessing they're not silver.

But they look good and I don't feel at all bad with them in a bag getting thrown around.

This would be my guess too. Which may be why only some of the coins are selling for a higher price. Some may not be silver or may have low silver content.

They are varying silver alloys so yes some likely have a greater amount of silver then others...
