What the heck?!?!? You lathed down the front bell into a usable front element?

Aye.

I was just looking at mine, and while it MIGHT be able to be lathed down...

Just take light and carefully cuts. But first try to fell if those steps are inside, if not it´s pointless to use the bell. Then it´s easier to make one from round stock, directly matching for a existing lens (easier than finding a lens that fits the modified frontbell)

Ok I lathed down my front bell to a perfect match! Whoo hoo! Painted, and it looks perfect...

except... no front glass.

Michael, can you help point me in the right direction to find a front lens or piece of glass to use?

IIRC Michael used a lense from another scope he butchered.
What is the exact O.D. of the lense you´d need...I have a huge lot glass lenses and might find something suitable

20.62mm... but I could bore out slightly to make a lip for a slightly larger OD to fit. Which I would probably have to do by a 2-3 thousandths of an inch.
