I'm sure that there is an STL file available somewhere. You could have one printed in clear resin.

I know, to be honest I haven't ever printed in clear resin, I suppose I could just print the entire gun in clear resin and then paint the parts that aren't supposed to be clear to give the effect. I did see a file on Cults3D. Wouldn't have the chamber I suppose but still

Very late to the party on this one but the Complete Series boxed set of DVD's comes with a functional instruction manual. The internal symbols and side tabs light up and everything.
I bought a set of the DVD's last year, just to get the instruction book. It's a very simple piece with basic lights and a AA battery pack. It's on my list to be upgraded with better lights and wiring but for a DVD boxed set inclusion for a pretty old show like this, it's really cool..
As for the suit box, I've never really come across any info on decent replica's but I think you could make one with some 3mm black acrylic sheets, some drawer slides and some adhesive holographic/prismatic tape or film. It looks cool but wasn't actually that complex a shape or design.
I collected a bunch of pics and spent some time a while ago sketching out the required layout and pieces for the box, but ended up moving house and never took the project any further. Maybe one day.

The internal pages of the original prop were internally lit to show the translated instructions. -One light would light one language at a time switched between shots.

If you wanted to, you could build a replica that uses the print from your prop on acetate to make the internal pages. You can get transparency pages for your printer that can be used for this.

I love the acetate plan. Truly cool and true to original. You could even add your own instructions.... the ones you use for when your bro in law wants to see it.

Hard to see it in the pics but the inside cover is printed in that holographic/refractive process so that when viewed from one angle it's in English and when viewed from another it's Alien. Actually pretty clever and get's that auto-translation effect across.
You can kind of see it if you look closely at the pic because of the angle I took it at:
And the internal triangles light up of course.
Unfortunately, that main pages/box section is where the batteries, wiring and lights all go, so adding in real pages is a bit tricky and would have to do some re-arranging.
I'd give more info but unfortunately, I lost the manual. I think I dropped it by the side of the road somewhere. Been really tough to work out the cape without it!!

I've recently gotten back into watching "Real Genius" and have made the "Pen15 Stretcher."
Did you want to borrow it?
(Also made the corresponding remote and flying sphere. (disclaimer: sphere does not actually fly)

I don't suppose you'd be willing to show how the internals work to get the two rods working in concert? Or maybe give a hint? LOL
I'm guessing some kind of elastic or maybe a spring-loaded pully assembly
The Guide from the BBC Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series with a working screen that loops the animated segments is my holy grail obscure prop replica. Surprised no one has ever done a run (to my knowledge). There’s a 3D print file floating around I’d love to have made one day, and if anyone here ever did a run they could take all my money.
