Just curious as to what the time frame is for this? Or is there one? Is Weta going to announce their decision in a couple weeks? A couple months?

Yeah...amazing. But I think the Microwave gun just goes over the line as being "too unusual" and "too unique". On its own, it looks like it could be some kind of a telecommunication device, or transportation device etc., because of the design having a predominant antenna or dish....It just does not look like a gun or a weapon at first encounter. I guess it is obviously some sci-fi contraption of sort when you look at it. If it is displayed alongside other D9 guns or a D9 graphics display behind it, then one could make the connection that it is some sort of D9 Alien weapon or something (if they did not see the movie).
However... the SMG (or I call it the snubby assault rifle)...well that looks like the usual suspect ...it looks like a gun up front, stand alone. One can see it has weapon/gun DNA and heritage.... that's partly why I like the SMG over the dish-micro wave gun. It just looks like/feels like a gun off the bat. ....... I hope WETA decide to produce the SMG. The dish micro wave gun is cool...but the SMG is heaps ...way COOLER (so to speak). :love

well they do need repainting after all, haha
Um, that part is just an Arc Generator chassis.
I never noticed that before, but then again I never did like the arc generator design.

Well we've cracked the magic 200 per each figure JUST from RPF membership alone.
Even if you figure 80% of those respondents might actually flake when the guns come out, that still leaves 80 guns sold here alone, then there's the rest of Teh Intarweb. We can't have the majority of the total potential customer demographic here, can we? Or are we that big these days?
