Already asked and /or suggested that in person at the Weta booth at the SDCC ....they were less than enthusiastic about the idea.

I'm willing to buy both, they both look exellent.
My preference is for the microwave gun. I'm more of a raygun guy than a slug-thrower guy, and I love the idea of a weapon with a sort of radar dish as a barrel. But I'd also say yes and open my wallet for a submachine gun.
Actually strike that, I just lost my job. If I'm employed again by the time that these are being made, then yes I'd open my wallet for both of them.

No...I don't need yours or anyone elses ideas.....thanks anyway. If I can't afford to buy another Weta prop its not the end of the world. This is just a hobby and doesn't dominate my life.
Now how bout you voting on which Prop you'd like?

I like the SMG design better than than the microwave gun. Sadly the SMG is only seen for a second or two in the film and never seen firing unlike the microwave gun.
What's the point with the Sub ? It looks like a tiny version of the Assault Rifle, which is sweet, but we hardly want for the last production a copy of a replica already released.
And honestly I don't care if the weapon appears in the movie 1 minutes or 1 hour, or not at all.
When you spend 500 dollars on a replica, the look come first in consideration.
And the Microwave is just...Something from another planet ! Must have for any SF fan in general ( in my opinion ).
It combines the cheesy effect of a dish satellite gun with the realistic look of District 9 weapon. Love it. ( even if I don't like his name, as it make me think of the real microwave to warm food
)

Honestly I would buy either. If they do end up making the SMG, I really hope they include the blue LEDs.

1. I would buy the snubby assault rifle (Sub Machine Gun).
2. The microwave looks cool but not sure...hmm...kind of looks like a communication device (District 9 calling Planet Prawn-Xcellent).
3. No sound effects on any of these guns please.

5. Microwave gun more likely to buy it if edition size is small.
6. I have the Assault rifle.
7. I want an arc generator >> re-issue some more please.
8. I want a gas projector >> re-issue some more please.
9. I want a black/orange Assault Rifle EXO-suit version with the extended cannister. :love Please.

As quite a few have said, the SMG is bareley seen in the movie and is basically a cut down assault rifle.
The Microwave is a pretty cool design that's significantly different from the other guns that have been released, and we get a good look at it in the rifle range scene.
My best guess regarding the fluid cannister is that the original prop was knocked together pretty quickly and is basically an acrylic tube with laser-cut vinyl decals wrapped around it. If Weta did a replica I think the whole thing would need to be idealised and re-engineered. Would be cool tho' :thumbsup

I voted for "none," but I'm the sort of person who has no money for that sort of thing. Though, if I had the money I would be all over both of them.
