Warehouse 13 - The Tesla Gun

I'm guessing he needed multiples and duplicated one he found ( just like yours, and, thanks to you, mine!). The original (with empty lock cut out) got used for a shot or two as did some of the duplicates he made.

I had to buy a reel and it is just sitting here. I can send you a length if you pay postage and tell me how much you want.

All common materials used for parts. Specific bottles replace the vacuum tubes, the body frame cut from an old teflon cutting board for its strength and covered in aluminum tape, the handle grips fashioned from wood and painted (those are square nuts on the bottom), More teflon circles for the mid-section along with another bottle cut to size and the windows cut out. Inside of it to get the leatherette look just use the back/front cover from an office calendar binder from last year. Narrow aluminum tubes in the front (you can get brass or aluminum from Ace HW). I just used what I had on hand. And so on. :)

What kind of bottles are they?

-any simple ideas to replace the vac tubes will be appreciated

Picked this case up off of eBay after some exhaustive searching. A few nice cases available in England but the shipping costs were prohibitive. I like the finish, its a bit different and the size is good 13"x9"x8", a little deep but the wood seems to be thick.

I am taking a brass plaque with me to Comic-Con and Dragon*Con to get signed by every Warehouse 13 cast member I can find and then mounting it in the top for display with my Tesla, meter, etc. Simpler than toting around the case. :)

As usual, Ray, our resident Tesla box expert, has found a very nice box on eBay that is a twin of the screen used ones.

Is that box big enough? It seems a bit small.

It is about 1" thinner than mine. It's not perfect. It is an example of what you can find. This search was eBay UK for Victorian Jewelry Box. They are out there, it takes lots of searching, time, and patience

anyone on here pick up those two API 361 VU Meters? Those were perfect matches. lucky dog. First time I've seen one without the logo. If someone on here did and would be wanting to maybe sell the second one, hit me up.

Honestly cannot say with certainty at this point - had them laying in my junk drawer - the larger one some kind of plastic moisterizer/body-wash bottle, the smaller ones I think were soap bottles from a motel or similar. If you shop in Walmart or CVS Pharmacy or something, just keep your eye out for bottles in the home/bath isles, might also work.

Started assembling and modifying the Tesla kit I got from Timelordd a long while back. Test fit everything together and it fit great, only issue was the long tube on the rear of the gun - the one I have didn't fit so he's trying to find which ones he used in his build so I can order one or else I'll have to take the measurements, comb through the thread and see what will work.

Took my other 2 tubes - the front and squat rear one and used acetone to clean off all of the markings. Came off remarkably easy with a little scrubbing with a paper towel and a fingernail on the roughest spots. I'll mount those 2 once I decide what to do with the "prongs".

Thinking about sinking the mounting holes for the "prongs" around the central front tube deeper with my drill press later since I'd like them a little more secure, especially since I'm considering using this for a cosplay piece.

My display case is now getting prepped to have 2 Tesla's resident, I think they'll both fit. :) Going to add a few things including a brass plaque in the top of the case which I can remove for autographs from the cast. Wasn't able to get any at SDCC and I have to skip Dragon*Con due to getting pretty seriously injured at SDCC but Aaron Ashmore is coming to Megacon next year and I hope Eddie might consider a return visit and other cast members. It's a shame I really wanted to meet Mrs. Fredrick, CC Pounder.

Sounds like a great idea! If you decide to build the box for it, contact me. I have some connections on Victorian boxes just like it.
I hope you feel better soon!

this is a bit small. I actually picked this up and another a bit bigger and both turned out to be too small. To fit properly you'll need at least 9.5in wide on the interior. That's even a bit too tight. You'll need to have interior dimensions of 10"x7x4. Height doesn't seem to be too much of an issue as even the smallest should fit at 3in deep. Timellords tessla's are 9in long just for the frame. Add the coil it will add a half inch easy. To fit properly you'll need to have some room on all sides. So, now back in the hunt for a decent shaped box with the correct dimension. Kind of bummed as one of the boxes I got is in perfect shape. Pondering if I can make a home for one of my farnsworths. Haven't decided on that yet though. Don't fall into my trap by not triple checking dimensions of the piece before searching for the box. I doubt if the qmx piece is an inch smaller than timellords piece. He's building mine right now and hope to have it in the next couple weeks or so. Cool cat that guy.

The QMX is 8 1/2" across the widest point, emitter to end of tube. You are correct about the size of the box. Mine is 7 3/4 x 10 3/4 x 4 1/2 on the outside. I wouldn't want any less than 4" deep. You have to consider the connection wire attachment stands up quite a bit inside. Here is a quick pic of my transformed Victorian Sewing Box (ebay UK) with a QMX Tesla and proper meter inside. Also a QMX Farnsworth is sitting inside the top for size reference.

You can see from my pics.... to age the box, I burnt the wood. The box I made is based on a vintage box.
