Has anyone been able to find a black doublet that looks close?

Nope. :( However, I'm attempting to at least track down the fabric (or something VERY close) and I may have found a suitable pattern that would work. If/when I finalize these discoveries, I'll be sure to share it right here.

Please keep us posted on the fabric hunt. I believe the interview states that it is a basket weave silk . I'd definitely be interested in some accurate fabric. I might even work out a deal with the pattern with someone who finds the fabric. I'll be patterning this doublet as soon as things settle down at school and I have a moment drape it. I'm a grad student in costume design and when things get busy, they get busy. But I'm also a pretty handy cutter/draper, so this doublet should be easy for me to do once I have all the lines. When I do this it WILL be Very Accurate. One thing I need is a good pic of the back of the costume. There are 'V' shapes in the pattern on both the front and the back. I can see the front in the pics I have, but not the back.

Darth Mule, that's AWESOME. Definatley be sure to keep us updated on any progress. A custom pattern would be the way to go (no doubt they did for the picture.)
Also,
Carl, be sure to let us all know on that fabric. I've been hunting around myself to no avail.

Ill be sure to post here as soon as I make progress on the vac-masks. (have not yet poured the plaster into my original.)

Holy cow. Anyone notice the price of the DC Direct V masks on eBay?. I'm glad I got one early for $130 right when it came out. Jeez..

Anyway, please keep this thread updated with new projects.

Nope. Limited to 500 and long since sold out.

I think they underestimated how this film would do. The mask is basically the only merchandising they did. Glad I got it since it looks perfect, but I was thinking of get another one to battle damage like the last fight scene, but it's too late now.

It's not exactly a prop, but I'm sculpting a 1/6th scale V head, for an action figure...

cant wait to cast it up and get one painted.

From what I heard, sideshow is taking the licence on. Since it'll be a new company, I wouldn't be surprised to see more masks. Look at ICONS and MR. MR still made all the same sabers as ICONS right? What would the problem be if sideshow made more masks? It'd be a pretty poor business move on their part if they didn't. (That's if they have the licence) DC Direct has already sold out so it wouldn't affect them one bit.

Unfortunately, Rubies has the costume license (which includes the mask).

To be fair, though, the Rubies mask is actually pretty darn good (it's the one WB gave away as promos at SDCC and WonderCon).

Home sick today...
Hey, anyone know how to "replicate" the egg in the toast thing?
it looked good in the movie :)

I have no Idea how to cook it.
I'm assuming though that since Natalie portman made that statement, it must have butter.

That's actually untrue. People are hoping for it, but there is nothing that indicates they have or could get the rights.
