Is your goal to make a replica that actually springs open and closes like the original prop, or are you just planning on correcting some of the shape inaccuracies, while keeping everything static?

I'm going to get one of these really soon, so I'm watching this thread. Great work so far, can't wait to see how it all works out. I love that you're making use of the toy parts. I'm not sure if I'd want to lose the remote functionality in my own.

I'll most likely play around with it for a couple months before I just gut it. I do want to mold and cast the green parts to make them look more like the filming prop, though.
