I say go with what ever you like, theres not alot reference for prequel ships. So go with what you like.

But i like your choice go with that.

looks good. is that foam core you're using? how are you cutting the curves so cleanly?

Steveo no thats 3mm poly styrene for the keel and lower hull
profile shape. Ahhhh as far as cutting it cleanly where it's straight
I use a nice machined edge of steel, where it's curved I cut by hand
I just make sure to cut a bit away from the line and sand it in.

Hope that helps!:thumbsup

Wait a minute. Actually it looks like the nose is rounded over a little bit but doesn't come to a sharp point. So just ignore what I said about the sharp point, that's the result of working with bondo with little or no ventilation.

Here's a few pics I found on starwars wiki. I think you got it right with the pointy version. Just remember, pointy is better, always.

Thanks rich I saw both of these I went with the bottom shot which is what gave me the pointy nose!!:lol From the side profile it looks pointy, but I guess you have to consider the addition of the other side , which will make the nose a bit blunter? I think I will be ok I can always sand the nose down to round it off, plus vacuum forming is going to naturally round it a bit....well I should say forming with out a vacuum pump will make things rounder!!:lol

Ok I did some last trimming and figuring, then I decided to cut
the lower keel for the bottom half of the (top Pod).Does that make a lick of sense?:lol

Anyway then I went on to cut the cross sections out,
I know someone is going to ask about the holes.:lol
I put them in there so the clay will go through and make contact
with the adjacent clay in the cross sections.

Thanks Al!

Ok first to get this elevated over some water, so it becomes
a one stop clay shop!
Then add the clay, I am up over the tops of the cross sections
If you stay below you have to add, if you try to get it perfect
you always seem to be low!:lol if I went with being lower I
have to add the Apoxie Sculpt thats another 24hrs, if I use Bondo
thats quick but I don't like it with the heat.So I will hope for the best
and sand it down right before the cross sections........and it will
probably still be off!!:lol:eek:thumbsdown
