I have the smart card now, and I found something out about the film used chip.
Nicktea you are going to love this.
The only 3d part of the film chip is the inner circle area. They slapped a decal/sticker over it on both sides of the smartcard.
I have an image that shows the back decal misaligned on the chip. You can also see the split line where the decal went over the front of the chip. The tiny inner rings lines didn't wear off on the front of the chip as I suspected. The decal overlaps them on the bottom part.
So you were right Nicktea. There just isn't enough space on the card to put two real chips on it.
With all this new info I decided to make a finessed digital 3d copy of the smart card and chips, so the circuit details can be recessed on both sides. The model is very rough right now but I think it will work.
I guess folks could offer decals and a middle ring set up but it wouldn't last long in the real world if someone wore it all the time.
Wish I could find out where this guy got those tiny tritium lights/studs. Blue ones would solve the light issue in the triangle tab. They use them in watches, but the shape isn't the same. They last for 10 years or so and they don't need batteries.
They are pretty expensive as well.
