Tron Legacy: the Other Props

Here is proof that the holes line up on both sides in the correct smart card tray.

I'm going to try to see if it is possible to 3d print the rings. They are only 14.5mm in diameter.

About the hacker module for the n8, I got a bunch of 720p screencaps and one of the most interesting (For me anyway) was this one

Looks like there's an additional piece attached to the iphone logic board, maybe for strength, or maybe to house wiring and power for that blue led? can anyone identify if its a found piece at all?

I think I also found exactly where the hole for that led was drilled out

From the second shot you can see the hex screws that secures the clear plastic cover to what looks like a black housing for the circuit board. Do we ever see if the module has a hdmi plug attached?

I've found this hdmi adapter with a similar curved top edge to the housing. Not sure about it's size though.

Found some dimensions for a slightly different version

hmm, not sure about the hdmi adapter, but I was just scanning through the end scenes and found this

Guess the previous poster (sorry, can't remember name) was right - they did use an ipod touch originally before the n8 sponsorship

Looks like a black and chrome battery pack, it would be very similar in size to the iphone hdmi adapter. They must have altered the iphone interface to fit into the hdmi port on the N8.

I'm going to move forward with this now. Should have the print in hand in a few weeks.

I will start a JY thread when it arrives.

You've made lines on the silver rings - if you look again at the caps you posted, it's a reflection of the enviroment. There are no additional rings on them.

those little metal contacts there break real easy

Those super tiny lines on the rings is not a reflection. You can see where the decal overlaps the last line cut in the lower ring.

Fantastic! I've been holding off finishing mine as I wanted to see some hi-res screen caps before I started the hacker module. It looks like the piece on the back is a metal mount plate that would, theoretically, help secure the hacker module to the phone. Just my guess anyways.

Thanks man, these are great. Are there any other caps you can pull with other views/angles?

Has anyone ID'd the round deal at the top of the pcb?

At first I thought that part fit into the hole on top, but the power button
is at that location and the stylus/headphone jack is on the bottom of that end.

Is a different phone base from this picture:

nhCpu.jpg

The top one is absolutely a Ipod 3rd gen or earlier touch. I can tell with the buttons on the side and case shape with a metal shine and Apple Ipod logo in the middle back.

The bottom one is a Nokia N8. You can see the extra buttons on the top side of the Nokia that is not on the top phone case shot. As well the bottom phone case is a grey painted metal and the top is a chrome metal finish. the Nokia also has a camera lens on the bottom missing in the top picture.

Given that, it would look like they switched the phones for certain shots and the Ipod may give credence that they used Apple hardware for the chip interface.

it looks like a headphone jack to me, but I need to go back and see if maybe there's any rear shots of the phone. That's technically the wire that he was connected to the ENCOM mainframe with, right? perhaps it's not a headphone jack, but I really don't know enough about data cables to be able to ID it in that kind of shadow.

Has anyone cut down their iPhone boards yet? What did you use to do it cleanly? Also, did you remove the board layered underneath the top board? it unclips easily enough with a bit of work.

I figured it was something like this,

a headphone adapter for the original 2g iphone. Then I too realised that there was nowhere for it to fi into.

'Tho I guess it could still be that part, with maybe the male section removed?
