Tron Legacy Costume

Pretty impressive. I can't see why they'd introduce two NEW characters when they invested... oh... an entire FILM to the LAST two new characters. :)

Also I was at a charity event, and I won a white Kevin Flynn disc. The irony was that I was wearing my tron jacket (the only guy wearing tron anything so it looked rigged when I won). Kit is my witness I really did win it fair and square.

Hey, I was wearing my Hurley Sam Flynn hoodie! And I'll vouch for you winning it fair and square =)

I'm having trouble finding the style of chef's coat I want, so I don't know what I'm going to do now. Its getting too warm for most jackets,not to mention most stores aren't carrying many right now. Other than lucking out and finding something that'll work at a thrift store, I might be out of luck getting something done by this weekend.

What kind are you looking for? Are you willing to order it, or you need to get it locally?
 
I'm trying to find a black asymetrical one with snap closures, but I'll go with buttons if I have to. Every one I've found so far has the closures down the middle. I wanted it for this weekend, but I don't think its happening. I'll just order exactly what I want, and go costumeless to Anaheim Comic-con.
 
Heya guys, first time poster here, week long lurker. :p Been using the various threads around to get an Identity disc modded with more LEDs and to stay always on. Thats more or less complete. Just got a few minor kinks to work out, then we screw it all up and voila. In May I'm going to be Cosplaying as Kevin Flynn at the London MCM Expo but right now I'm having a little bit of a problem with figuring something out. I can't for the life of me find a place that does a coat like the one he wears for this outfit.

Gone all over the place but can't find one like it. I've already got my eye on some EL wire to do the lights on it, but that coat is eluding me. Anyone got any advice?

On another note, the undershirt I have a solution for so it's not urgent but it's not the most idea, so any suggestions for that would be appreciated. :)

That's becuase it was a custom coat just for the film. You will have to have one made, or make one yourself with a sewing pattern. Its not a complicated coat, just not something you can buy.

You do have some similar options though. Check out Cosplay websites that sell costumes and look for "Bleach" costumes. Alot of the characters have similar looks. You won't find an exact match though. Sorry.
 
Yeah, I thought it might have been. Was hoping to find something even similar. Though thank you for pointing towards Bleach. I'm a fan of the series but it never occured to me. :p Now... to get to scouring...
 
Hey everyone it's been awhile from the first post I put on here but I'm finally getting to work on my program costume. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what inverter to use and where to buy it? Is it best to just buy it from the same place you buy the el Tape or are there more cost effective places to get one? Thanks again.

I have a glow hut inverter that I had left over from a panel experiment and Luminous film EL tape. I haven't had any problems with it.

I've been hounding the internets for low cost battery powered inverters and found a ton of places. All the models are identical, so they are probably made by the same manufacturer and just sold by these retailers. I would expect them to all be just fine.

Nice! The SoCal area has had them for 12.99 for the last few weeks, if they go down to 9.99 I'll have to pick up a couple extra for modding.

I would warn against it! Take a closer look at the pic and the title. It looks to me like they are showing a black/gray/white snakeskin pattern. That would make sense with the whole "animal print" thing. It looks like black and grey scales with white/grey stripes. I think you would be highly disapointed with it, and I think it would look really wierd, personally.

For those programs following along, V2.0 of the Flashback Flynn jacket arrived today. It is absolutley PERFECT! Its everything I wanted it to be and it was $150. I highly reccomend this place to anyone interested in one. They definitley earned my bussiness for life. For those who don't know, the place is "tailormade jackets.com" and they will make ANYTHING in leather for $150. I will be posting pics as soon as I have some time.
