After seeing the amount of interest in the custom Flashback Flynn jacket I was able to convince the maker to add it to one of thier websites. You can find it at the following link. I don't know how long it will be available for, so get one now if you are interested. Just remeber, as it is a custom made item, there are no returns.
Black Perforated Jacket
Unfortunatlety it was a bit more work to produce than they initialy thought, so the are selling it at $180. Still, its much cheaper than the Alpine Stars NYC jacket and it can be made in any size. Just provide them your measurements. Good luck! Let me know if you need anything else.

Sorry if I missed this MisterDigital, but does the jacket have the flap behind the zipper where the EL tape can be applied?

Yes, it does. Its a heavy fabric about 1" wide. There also flaps on the wrists to keep the style the same.

Cant wait to see pics,
My only issue is where the non-perf leather attaches to the shoulders it looks a little flat where on the real jacket it looks like its an extra layer added on top of the shoulder, giving it more depth.
Is it flat that or just look like that from the pic on the site?
Aside form that it look pretty good and a whole lot cheaper than the NYC. Cant wait to order mine.

Yes, and no. The NYC jacket is a very thick motorcycle jacket intended to protect a rider in a crash. As such, its is much much thicker overall. It probobly does have an additional layer of something underneath the smooth nappa to help protect, making it look like a more dramatic difference.
The Flashback Flynn is definitly thinner than a protective motorcycle leather, and its only made from two layers, one of which is smooth nappa and the other perforated. I guess you could say that its more fashion than function in that regard. Its geared toword summer wear anyway, hence the perforations.
To directly answer the question though, in person you can definitley tell the the smooth nappa leather is the top layer, and the way its sewn and stiched makes it look even more prominent, but the difference between the two layers is a a bit less dramatic than the NYC. It doesn't detract from the look at all though.

Very sorry, really tired and making this post the night before Anaheim comic con. I said I would post a detail how to, but later. Here is what was done plus some tips, details will follow when I more awake.
Started out with a picture. (I told my friend to find a fleece jacket because stitching can be easily removed with out permanent damage)
Took it into illustrator to sort play with the ideas.
This is the tape by the way! It can be found at any "harbor Freight" store.
Using autocad, I print a 1:1 scale print out of my patterns. I offer this as a service as well, where I can design any pattern to an any size or shape within 8.5X11 that can be sent to you as a pdf and printed out to perfect scale as long you don't adjust scaling in the printing.
Pain staking process of separating red and white. And cutting out the patterns.
All the chest pieces!
White is ridiculously bright!
Had to do a special fitting for the chest because well guys have flats chest and some girls don't.
The arms!
The erie part is that I can fit into the jacket.
The chest triangle came out way too big, oh well!
Right Arm.
Left.
What do you guys think?

Awesome stuff shogun! I don't think it needs EL Tape...that's my opinion. Reflective tape can achieve the same effect, lay flatter in some areas, and still look really good!
I was just razzin' them. :lol

just one question for you, seeing as how the finished jacket has yellow reflective tape did you just paint over the white or highlight it or something? i need to know so i can do my military style jacket.

I can't say for certain, but I bet he just used yellow. Notice how he bought the Red/White tape and separated it to use just the white. The other common reflective color for that kind of striped tape is Yellow/Black. You see it on semi trucks all the time.
