Torso version 1.33

nice work there corey, glad it came out well for you! just wondered why didnt you use a silicone mould with a fibreglass jacket,as ive seen on here b4?is there a partiqular reason!?

Good luck getting your hand inside the arm to paint the seams... Looks good man, I can't wait to order one.

Mainly because i want this to be a costume, hence i am only casting latex into it. Silicon is a non-pourus material so latex doesent cure properly in it somtimes. By making it ultra-cal the latex should set up way beter.

Its going to be a little tricky, but i can plug the arms and fill them with latex if i have to, then drain it after an hour or two and get a realy nice even coat. I let the mould air out yesterday and now im going to start casting into it today. I will have pictures of the first cast in a few days once its dry.

if u leave the latex an hour or two wont it start to congeal and come out like cottage cheese!?just wondered!one heavy piece to lug around!!hope it goes well for you.

No, i just put on the first two coats and no trouble at all. Even getting up the arms is no problem. In this heat i can paint a coat every 20 min, it wont start to shrink for a day or two. Moulds are heavy but workable.

I was reading how you mentioned that you paint the latex coats in the molds when they are attached, then attach them and paint in the seams. When you go to attach them, wouldn't the latex fall out of the molds once it's put upside-down, or do you stand it straight up? Just a bit confused on this part.

I painted about 4-6 coats into the moulds wile they are separated, then i lift the front peice onto the back (laying down). The latex is thick enough that it wont fall off. Then i paint the seams and add a few more aditional coats. I have one almost done in there now, we will see how it came out soon.

You shouldn't have to do that.
Thicken up your latex, glob it on the edge of your mold walls and put the two halves together. Let dry and demold. The seams will bond to each other that way. May take some practice....but running your arms in such a large mold for seaming wont exactly be fun when you can let the mold do the work for you.
Looking good.

Not much, it tore apart during the opening of the mould. It has already been peeled off and started new projects.

Thanks david, thats kinda what i did. The first pull came out great except for one tiny flaw. I got to excited to pull it out and opened peeled it back before it was ready. Once i saw it was not dry i pushed it back in, and it just made the back shoulder armour have some little bumps. I am about to order more latex so i can make more, i will have pictures up once i make another. Im waiting to create a sale thread untill i have a few good ones ready to go.

I touched myself when i seen the first pull. Did you figure out a price on these bad boys? And will we be able to obtain them in resin or just latex?
