TMP IRON MAN - New Photos Feb 2011. Page 72.

Re: Iron Man Costume. TMP. NEW MAY PHOTOS NEW HELMET & LEGS PAGE 92.

From someone who is seriously contemplating buying one of these this week, can one of the owners comment more in depth on the overall wearability of the suit, and specifically on the freedom of movement the suit allows in its stock, unmodified form?

Questions such as: Can you walk comfortably (I know the shoulder/arm area was discussed earlier)? Can you walk naturally, as in, without a TK strut? To what degree can you kneel, jog, sit, touch your toes, swing a baseball bat, drive, touch your head, do the IM Ground Punch?

'May seem like silly/obvious questions, and I would surely end up modifying it a lot to do all of the above comfortably, but I thought I'd ask since if I buy it I plan on wearing it as often as possible...

Pictures/videos in dynamic poses/movements would help me, in addition to contribute to the thread for others I'm sure who are wondering the same thing!

great video.

To answer your question. I myself love the suit. i am 6'4 weigh 200 pounds and believe that it fits me perfect. If you get one of these suits you have to remember that with no sacrifice there is no victory. What i mean by that is to not expect to just put it on out of the box and be able to run around with great mobility and perfect sight. because it wont happen. putting this suit on is a task and it requires 2 people at all times. once the arms are on you cannot touch your helmet to take it off. (atleast i cannot.) Being in the suit is amazing. the crowd reaction is the best i have ever received. it will get everyones eye. there are mods you will do to it to make it a better all around suit. but all in all i believe it is worth the money and worth the wait.

True...but I am getting really close.
I started widening the opening on the lower section of the bicep...you know, the gold piece. When i bend my elbow, the lower gold section makes contact with the decorative gold section on the upper bicep. By widening that opening, I can get my elbow past a 90 degree bend easily...but still just a few inches away from reaching my helmet. :unsure

After seeingmy results, I doubt I can cut anymore out of the lower bicep....we have to start looking at other ideas.

If you replace your straps with elastic straps you might get extra movement to reach. Another thing that is important to make it happend is that you need to have the gauntlet loose from the lower gold arm That the only way to reach. But still not possible as it is design. Also reminding that the movie version had urathene rubber.

Re: Iron Man Costume. TMP. NEW 2009 HELMET PHOTOS Page 77.

We are making a V8 helmet.
Redoing the chest as well...

Making the movie accurate chest with the metal "collar bones" by the neck? You've revamped most everything now, so I assume a movie accurate backplate is your last step? Is that coming up soon, too?

To anyone who owns one of these suits, I'm curious as to what the total weight of one of these suits is? I know most heavier costumes have the weight distributed nicely, so I'm just wondering.

I weigh 200 and with the suit on i weigh 225. so roughly 25 pounds.

Thanks for the reply Desolate. Not a bad weight at all. My Predator costume weighs 48 pounds. Granted I only weigh 135, so almost 50 pounds more is a bit to handle. :lol

Re: Iron Man Costume. TMP. NEW MAY PHOTOS NEW HELMET & LEGS PAGE 92.

yeah i am 6'4 weighing 200 pounds. i believe i am perfect idea for the TMP Iron Man suit. It fits me great.

Re: Iron Man Costume. TMP. NEW MAY PHOTOS NEW HELMET & LEGS PAGE 92.

That's cool. I wish I was big enough to wear something like the TMP suit. I'm 6' and only like 135 so the only Iron Man that would look correct on my size frame would be that recast one from England like the one sleeper341 owns. Not because I like it better, but because I could fit it better I think. :confused

Either that or pad the crap out of a TMP suit to make it fit. :lol That's not too far of a stretch actually.... I pad out my Predator suit to make me look bigger in the torso and legs and I'm 6'8" with that suit on. I always gotta look for ways to disguise my skinnyness.

Re: Iron Man Costume. TMP. NEW MAY PHOTOS NEW HELMET & LEGS PAGE 92.

Could always wear a 'musclesuit' under the TMP kit Mr Fett :) It would bulk you out to fill the kit.
