Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Well, if anyone is up to working out a digital pattern for the tie, I could do a run of these and should be able to keep them in stock for a while. Let me know...

Kind regards,
Indy

I had been hoping someone would do it by now. :lol

SoulInertia offers ties, which are beautiful and vibrant! He's actually the only one I've seen selling them ( though that's only on ebay ). I can't afford one though. *le sigh*

Indy, Toby offers a tie, but I beleive he has a very limited supply of fabric. Otherwise, as far as good nice ties go, he's the only I've seen offer anything.

EDIT - Um, I can't beleive the safty pin fabric is that small. Thanks for the info. :)

Correction, it is an unlimited supply of ties and will be available on my site. Otherwise, the only limited part was the special RPF only price, which was posted in the junkyard a while back. :)

Ahhhh.

:lol :p ;)

Well, if someone can really nail the pattern for me, I should be able to do a run of 100% silk ties (fully printed front and back) and keep the price to around $50-60.

Kind regards,
Indy

Indy, if you're able to get all the splotches in relatively correct positions, consider one sold. :thumbsup

Ditto! That would be a great price. I, too, though, am a stickler for the spots of the spots. :lol More on the bowtie itself than the rest... ( how each corner has a big yellow 'weepinbell' hahaha! )

PlasticineNinja, if you're doing a digital pattern, remember that there's no blue in it...I've seen a couple with blue where it's just meant to be the sheen of the black satin.

Here's an image of what I was able to get ready in time for the premiere. I wasn't able to get everything done that I wanted. The tie is just a place holder, a last minute thing done with some rit dyes. I think that is my fourth hat attempt, not perfect but I'm pretty happy with it for the moment. I'll work on a more screen accurate version in time for Halloween.

WOW!!! That looks GREAT! The makeup is fantastic and the fact that you have the perfect facial structure for it adds an incredible amount of...uhh...muchness. :D Love the wig shape, too. Really nice work!

Plasticninja...are you the one from the YouTube viddies as Candee? The similarities are striking!

If yes you viddie was very helpful!

Thanks for the compliment aelynn :)

Here are what my custom Mad Hatter bow ties look like. They do have the blue color in them, but I was looking to match the color enhanced and filtered look from the promo shots and as seen on screen rather than the SDCC display.

Soul, stop posting comparisons like that! It makes me want to buy it more!!!!! :lol The placements are almost perfect.....ERGggGGhhhhHhh...must...resist....but only because Travis will probably never wear it again. :( </3

OK! Pics of the hero costume coming soon!

What did I learn from looking at the hero costume? Scale! I could not believe how tiny everything is!!!

- The ribbons attached to the safety pin are no wider than 1/4 inch. The pin is 4 inches wide (best guesstimate).

- The cuff on the sleeve of the coat (from top of trim to bottom of trim) is no taller than four inches.

- Good luck finding spools for thread for your bandolier! Each one was no wider than 1/2 inch.

- The peacock feather in the hat was TINY!!!! The black jewel in the center representing the spot was no larger than a US 10 cent dime!

- Definitely 12 brass buttons on the vest. They are separated out about 2 -2 1/2 inches apart. The vest squares are about 1 inch by 1 inch so that would be 2 1/2 squares.

- The hat pins you see in promos are the same. The sunflower pin was missing from the hat.

- The hat is a very dark to medium shades of brown.

- Everyone's jackets are definitely on the money however the shine is not present in bulk. We definitely have to reduce the shine by weathering up the coat.

- Hero's shoes did have engravings in them. DOWNAL is one of the words. Need to edit and blow it up.

I am still uploading and editing the photos so give me moment to catch up!

I noticed during the summer when I saw the pics of the costume that the spools were tiny, More like "samples" of thread, so I turned all my own spools on a lathe and then aged them.

Since everyone else is posting little updates I figured I's stick some up as well!

and Tomorrow I'll be posting pics of all the costumes I did, including the Knave, red queen and Mallyumkun!

Speaking of Alice's...it seems I forgot to upload a decent picture of mine. After all the complaining and procrastinating I did on the boards here, I think I should share it, so here it is in non-Tiny form! :D

Minus the dotted mesh and tulle underskirt...which I couldn't find and didn't notice. respectively, 'til the movie. BOOOO! But it still looks cute, anyways...I think. :)

I love how Travis' head just looks doubled up by the poster. :lol ... God, I am so proud of that wig. @_@
