Thanks guys! All of the ribbons on the bust are screen accurate with black edging and a thin black stripe off center through the middle but because it didn't exactly have a flat surface to sit on or any stretch to it, some of them folded over throughout the night. :lol JUST thought I'd add that. One day I'll have better pictures that show more of the detail...or when I remake it with a puffy tulle underskirt. :D

My Alice and I have started on the Armour for Comic con, do they allow metal swords in?

Also, I am making her a Giant Jabberwocky head to carry around as a trophy. Methinks when we are outdoors it will Ooze from the neck......so if y'all see trails of gore everywhere you know what its from!

Hey,guys!
At last I have dared to write something.
Here is how looks the peacock pin on Mad Hatter's Hat:

And at some photos, the hat hasn't a green shade, but it has brown shade(on my screen it really looks brown!):

If you put that d23 picture into photoshop and super saturate
it.you will see there is some green in there.
i thought the same thing but it is one of those weird color anomalies
that happens when dying leather.

all the best,
ACME

Oh,thanks a lot for answer!I don't work so much with leather, therefore I didn't know it. But now,I will know.Thanks :)

So,what about Alice's gloves?
As my thought, they are made from stretch(or not stretch) lace fabric, on which a fabric paint or something else have made strips.
It is appreciable in a photo if you attentively look closely, but it only my assumption:

Oh,I have forgotten! That they put on and kept on hands, there are elastic bands there.

they do but they need to be sheathed and tied in if there real
but as long as its not sharp you should be fine

the will mae you put a tag on it though, sometimes you get a cool guy and they let you put on the tag on a place where you wont see it in pictures
like the hilt

ill have Panda ask her cousin about a Vorpal

and Senitor
a white silk tool with sky blue paint will do the trick
and it has 3 buttons on it as well, i think there white and blue as well

Each Con has different rules. I know at Pyrate Con in NOLA everyone carried steel and weapons! At Renn Faires everyone can carry steel but it needs to be Peace Tied!

I would check with Con security before you show up on site because the last thing you would want to do is turn around, go back to your car to put away your key prop OR worse yet not be allowed entrance into the event.

That is why my two handed sword is going to be made of wood with fiberglass over the top for strength. See if the "wand" a wood sword with a metal detector!!!

That peacock pin is similar but quite a bit off from the actual one used in the movie.

Chad, how are you going about making the armor?

And does ANYONE know where I can find organza ribbon with FIVE stripes in it!?!??!?!? ARGH!!! ( or just striped organza... )

Speaking of the peacock pin, it seems everyone has one but I havent seen any discussion on making them. Anyone know of a tutorial or the proper name for it?

dont know of a tutorial or name for it...but i just embroidered and beaded 2 scrap pieces of leather. :) easy peasy.

The peacock pin is, Infact, a Turbin pin based on what I assume to be late 18th century adorment for a turbin of the Middle east.

I used interfacing.....
