Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

actually this is a better link: http://www.johnnydeppimpersonator.com/

It tells the story.Sadly Charles.... his Sparrow costume is the worst one he does

Huh. It's amazing how shaggy hair, some facial hair and glasses can change a person...lol

Back on topic....I HATE my hatter eyebrows. And I have to leave at like 3 pm tomorrow to get to the movie on time...and I have been up since 5am and was at a 14 hour work shop for work all day...procrastinating is BAD! >_<

yeah, actualy the funny thing about him is he only looks like Johnny when hes being Johnny
other than that the moment he shaves he no longer looks like Johnny at all
and its funny how i could make a Jack costume at the age of 17 and have it look better then his, and look better in general
hell i was 16 when i did Wonka and i blow him out of the water XP

though form what i hear hes a really nice guy
and you know, id have no problem making him a bunch of Depp costumes
cause i needs moneys

and id have to say that Edward is his worst
i hate foam scissorhands
it just looks like he didnt try with this one

/\ Ahhh!! But foam is Con friendly. Last thing you want is to be arrested because you accidentally impaled a fellow Con attendee with your metal Vorpal sword!

oh and about the sideburns, if you use a wig cap (wich you should be using) use some clops to clip them up over the ear. or you can totally shave them off, ive had to do that befor, they grow back fast so dont worry

as for eyebrows, you can use that spray can stuff on them. get a eye brow brush and get some of the orange paint on it and brush it into the brows going against the hair
ive gotten it to look really good befor
and dont worry if you can still see most of the brow, cause in pictures it looks amazing.
you can even get an orange lip liner pencile and color them in and feather them to creat a curled look, its not hard to do

OK steering away from Mr. Lopez and getting this thread back on track!

What have people used for the mesh like material on the hat? It appears to be similar to the stuff I used on my Cannibal Crown but I doubt they used palm tree bark on the hat!

It appears to be material that has been shredded!!!

Also how in the world are you supposed to shred a silk like material to achieve the hat scarf end look....!!! I tried separating out the fabric on mine and it is starting to look like a rats next!!!

yes but see, my hands are plastic and look how they came out

as for a foam Vorpal
um....yeah...no
atleast wood, you can make wood look like metal easyer and you wont be afrade to destroy it

though my girlfriends cousin is probably gonna make me a Hatter sword and will make our Knaves sword from metal
cause it will last forever and look epic....and we can fight ^^

ok this i know too
Alyeen said felt for the fuzz, i tryed it, i looks amazing and its cheap too. just rip the fibers out and glue them on

as for the scarf end you have to pull out the threds on the side like one by one to seperate the long threds
it will take about an hour but its the only way to do it.
as a warning you may want to put a stich where you want the threds to stop, otherise youll pull forever, or the long threads will pull and ruin your scarf

ON the hat? It looks to be more like brown silk material that has been separated and glued onto the hat.

Do you have any pics of the fabricated felt technique?

well remeber thats not the REAL hat,

ask Aleen, shes done it, i need to get brown felt
we have plenty of blue and green and purple though XP

though i dont see why a wedding silk wouldnt work
youd need to get the good expencive stuff though

The mesh on the SDCC hat looks like the same stuff that shows up on this greenscreen photo. You can see it on the left sleeve of the coat!

Just came back from the theatre, it was a great movie, one I was finally NOT disappointed when I was leaving the room after the credits:) When the bluray will be released you will have PLENTY of references for the hat!;)
I think I will have to make me a hat too... Not the entire costume, I'm still so far from finishing my Sweeney Todd!!!:lol
Oh, the reddish-brown mesh/tulle on that pic, wasn't in the movie hat (or at least I wasn't able to see it... But I'll see it again Saturday, so, I'll try to see if I can spot anything useful:))

There was actually a LOT of costume inconsistencies in the movie, for the record.

For some reason at one point, the striped ribbon was on the same side as the hatpins and the 10/6 card, which stuck out like a very large and confusing sore thumb to me. o_O

The hairy part of the hat was also here and there and sometimes nowhere...the colour of the band went from pale coral to FUSCHIA pink... Just a note, the coat does not change colour. I mean, it is shown in different colours but there's no changing in action. When it's brown it's brown. When he's prisoner, it's grey. When he's fighting it's blue.

Re: the hairy part again...if you zoom in on the promo pic it's definately more of a shredded tulle, that's so shredded it almost looks hairy. For this I shredded up some felt and patted it down. Since it has no explanation or reason as to what it is, I think the fuzziness on mine gives it a mossy look which in turn makes it look super old and weathered, a hat that has gone on many an adventure. :) I like how it looks now, but who knows, I'll probably change it up. :lol

Uploading some pics again!!! Unfortunately ( I ALWAYS have excuses, I know ) again, they were at the end of the night and before we left, I couldn't find some of the pieces since Travis had a meeting today and couldn't get here til late and we were cutting our time close in getting ready before heading to Toronto for the movie...at rush hour. LOL

Anyways, so I know there are thumbles missing, the wig is drooping a bit, some hat pins are missing...they'll all be replaced and added in for Friday so more pictures will come then. :D

Touching a few up and will post soon!

PS. Did anyone else feel the EXPLOSION OF FIREWORKS between the Hatter/Alice at the end. SoooOOoOOoOoOooOooo sad and romantic. *sigh* I'm kind of sad they cut out the kiss as awkward and strangely out of character it would be for the Hatter.

Also, the Futterwacken was incredible...incredibly strange yet also hilarious. Somehow, it was just right in some VERY VERY strange way. :lol

And the Hatter actually made me uncomfortably scared at some points. Black make-up Hatter is........Well...I have no words for it. :|

AELYNN!!! COME ON!!!
SPOILER ALERT!!!!
GOOD GRACIOUS SOME OF US DON'T GET TO SEE IT EARLY YOU KNOW!! ARRRGGHHH!!!!

*ahem*
any way, i just shredded some very light tool for the fuzz on the hat
i spray painted it adobe brown and just stuck the threads on
looks pretty good for now, probably change it

oh and i made some new gloves out of some stuff Panda just had at home
24129_1378994112710_1167609243_3116.jpg

took it with my camera phone, to lazy to just go get my camera
i like them
they will work for now

and its a bummer to hear the coat just goes from one coat to another
(actually that makes an inside joke between me and some friends even funnier)

buy the way i have a ton of this materal, if you want me to make you a pair of gloves just PM me

PADAWAN! I didn't even say any spoilers! You don't know anything about the scene with Alice/Hatter other than that they're in it together, I just said I felt some chemistry there! And a lot of other people will disagree. It was just a girly mention. :lol and everyone knows he does the futterwacken!

AND NOW ON TO THE PICTURES!!!

well...here's one for now, a quick ghetto photoshop teaser! ( Yes, that is tiny me on the hat... :lol )

toss1.jpg

more to follow...

here's another! :D

Travis has NO IDEA how to take good pictures so all of the ones of me are on angles where I look like I'm a midget. Therefore, I will only be in these manips as a tiny little thing. Nicer, bigger, normal ones to be posted Friday night when one of my girlfriends can take some better shots. :lol
