I just got one of your RQ crowns in the mail yesterday, Fatal! It almost made it completely unharmed. Just a few of the beads came unglued. It's sooooo pretty!! Most importantly though.....thanks for the description of what you used (the mirror board) 'cuz I'm totally going to use that to make my crowns for other dresses I'm working on! What totally cool stuff!

I also got my two rings from Hot Topic in the mail yesterday. Great mail day! Today I think I'll play around with the embroidery on the fabric and see how that goes. Wish me luck!

Here's a little treat for everyone.

For those who can't afford nice hat pins:

Good for a budget, but most are far from accurate.

Eyebrows too?

How's about a mini hat?

This company is working on a Hatter wig, that will include eyebrows. I've seen their facial, chest, eyebrows in the past, and they're fairly decent, as are their wigs. This isn't a final production piece, but the woman told me they were aiming to match the color from the poster.

Cute!
The pins don't look half bad. I'd pay ten bucks for the "elongated diamond" one. That looks spot on.

They have an ETA on these?

OOh. That diamondy pin is nice, the others are kinda meh..Definitely would be workable though... is that 4th pin supposed to be the blue gem pin...minus the blue gem? Did it break inside the box already? :lol

Those eyebrows look like they could fill the entire space from eyelid to hat brim!! :lol I guess with a little shaping they could work...but then with the time it takes I'd rather make my own and customize them to my liking entirely.

LOVE that mini hat though! I don't know why and I wouldn't have anything to do with it but I want it!

Yep. Hatter is definitely going to be the Joker of 2010...but when Trav was the Joker ( year of TDK, I can't even remember ... '08? ) we only saw one other...I guess there are some good things about Niagara Falls and the people who live here that think they're way too cool to dress up on Halloween ( though there was that tiny, tiny Asian girl in a banana costume :lol). :)

I planned on finishing Hatter tonight and have done nothing but lurk since I got home at 6. How many times have I said that on here now? :confused

Thanks for sharing those pics, though! Different interpretations are always interesting to see...even when they're cheapo Halloween costumes. Ha!

On another note, Swarovski now has their Alice collection in store. It's incredibly unique and strangely beautiful, which is appropriate I suppose. :D They have a gorgeous model of the necklace Alice wears with the Sparrow on it for $130 ( cdn ).

hahah, my mini hat is better

i got to know, are those pins Plastic
cause i think i want them
i like the Hollow best
id probably use that one

Actually, those prices that you see are not retail, they're wholesale. Most are also not final products, but that hollow pin is the best. Looks just like mine, except that it's plastic. So I'm sure that one will have the blue stone on it.

I didn't get an ETA on them, probably mid to late summer is my guesstimate.

OOOHHH!!!
well now we know
still we can keep our eyes open
and being plastic, the upside is that since there plastic they will weigh like, nothing
if anything wed all get it for either the whistle or the hollow, or both. or hell just to have them XP
that would be me right there

It was at a private buyer's tradeshow. They have a few around this time of year to showcase all the new products to retailers, so they can start placing orders for Halloween season.

Great work Fatal

but geez Luise where do you find or make the time?? :confused :confused
ive gotta couple things in the works for the red queen
hopefully i get'em done by satuday.

I've been a busy bee. Putting in a lot of late nights. Especially since I have my regular 8-5 day job to contend with. Looking forward to your red queen stuff!

for the life of me, i cannot get this flower to look right.

any ideas on how i can make a flower out of fabric to look like this one?

Looks like origami.

My girlfriend makes fabric flowers for a living. She thinks she can make one to look exactly like it. PM if interested.

Orientation of flowers on hat scarf!

SDCC has it this way:
hatter15-1.jpg

D23 had it this way:
hatscarf01.jpg

I don't really think it was a flipped digital pic because I have seen multiple versions of the D23 photo from different angles and the hat scarf is oriented the same way!

A conundrum!!!! If it is the Comic Con way than I need to repaint after the premiere! UGH!
