TIE Fighter end table

I started this project 3-4 years ago. Each lunch hour I'd draw a little more in solidworks on my TIE Fighter.
I wanted to make an end table. If you like it I have other projects on my Facebook page

Six months ago I decided that I needed to cut down on the details and start building it

Crazy good! Would you mind describing your machining setup? It looks like you used some kind of renshape material, btw (?)
Thanks for sharing!

Oh man, I'd love to have one of those!!!!
im thinking of selling kits out of oak or pine, but they still would be crazy expensive

its all pine, and I wish I would have gone oak right away. I lamented 3/4" thick boards together and machined it from 4 different sides

Well, still you got a pretty smooth finish from the look of it. Really creative!
If you sell kits, remember not to refer to "Star Wars" or even perhaps "TIE" when publicizing since Big Mickey might get excited.

thank you, the material alone for an oak one is $170. With the labor and machine time at least 4.5 times that.
You can pm me if you'd like about it.

I can imagine that some people would appreciate wooden StarWars models. Maybe on a smaller scale and with cheaper wood. Great job btw;)

That is SOOOO cool!! I would've really liked 1 or 2 myself. Wonderful work. :thumbsup

Looks really nice. Do you know what your glass top will look like yet?
its going to be a rectangle with 4 holes for dowels. I didn't want the top to fall off.
On top of each dowel will be a polished aluminum imperial symbol.
I looked at having the imperial symbol etched into the glass but then you wouldn't see the TIE Fighter.
The top should be in this next week.
