Hey guys, I promise I'll get some updates to you soon. I had to order more foam, lol.. it is coming today.

I did however order hockey shoulder pads that will be worn under my silver under suit to both widen my shoulders, thicken my biceps and most importantly broaden my chest from front to back.. so I fill out the chest better. lol

I also plan on sewing up the cape soon and will post pics of that soon.

c'mon man, he says "foam" in almost every post. lol

I have looked into other avenues.. but I am really not concerned with tiny seams, etc.. once a couple coats of plasti dip and multiple coats of paint are applied I doubt any seams will be visible.

Can you sand plastidip? If we follow your model, i'm not sure how much i'd trust myself or my bf to get the seams perfect the first time (we're not experienced foam armor builders) - sanding would allow us a little leeway in refinement.

Can you sand plastidip? If we follow your model, i'm not sure how much i'd trust myself or my bf to get the seams perfect the first time (we're not experienced foam armor builders) - sanding would allow us a little leeway in refinement.

I've been experimenting with touching up gaps (or just that one annoyingly ugly seam) with a bit of latex caulk. It seems to work well to smooth things out.

That said, I think you'll be surprised how easily the foam seams go to together - I know I was.

If you're subscribed to this thread, you're certainly following the correct builders to keep you inspired about foam costuming! :thumbsup

If I had to guess he meant He noticed that you had a beard which is good considering Movie Thor had a beard "the roll"!!

Chris Hemsworth had an extremely weak beard for the movie. I was actually pretty bummed about that. My beard on a regular basis is much longer than his. You think of THOR and you think of a big beard right? lol

I was unimpressed overall with the beards in THOR. Ray Stevenson was the only one with a beard worthy of an Asgardian, in my humblest of opinions.

Great progress on the Thor costume. Quite jealous. Of course, my lack of beard growing skills will forever prevent me from doing a good Asgardian. (Except maybe Fandral. I could fake that mustache)

Finished the right bracer, chest and rough out of hammer is done.
Please note the last couple pics of it on the dummy. does not show the new hockey pads I am getting which will be worn under to beef out the shoulders and biceps past the edges of the arm openings on the chest... when that is done.. it'll be intimidating.
