Limited Run The Yuma (Short Bladed Stunt) Kit. Including Blade and Stencils. **SIGN UP CLOSED**

Looks very great.
What process steps do you follow for your completed version? Do you darken the aluminium first or apply directly the stencils on the machined finished body?
Thanks for your answer and great work

Thanks :) I don't chemically darken myself. The metal looked pretty clean/new on the Yuma shoot. Although I have seen some great results where people have used aluminium black. Personally, I just dull the surface with scotchbrite pads and steel wool, but that's all. Then I knock the paint back with the pads once it's cured. I've considered trying the Birchwood Casey on just the emitter (then knocking back before stenciling). I could try it as an option for people to see what they think before the run goes ahead maybe?

Many thanks for your answer.
Good idea to darken the emmiter. It could give more character and deep to the hilt.

Can I get on the list for two stencils please.
Absolutely. Thank you. I've updated the list. (y)

I've ordered a handful of these to test them out before going ahead with a larger order. I'll post an update on those once they've come in and I've had a chance to test them out. :)

Some Yuma porn for your enjoyment...

This went out to a new home earlier today... It's the last Yuma kit from my previous run.

I was asked if I could install the Tri-Ring, so I thought I'd get a few beauty shots before sending it on it's way.

These are basically the parts that will be sent out for this run (minus the blade and stencils), so I thought I'd share them here:

I have an awesome plan with these stencils Dave...when they come in i have a technique i'm going to try for a custom Yuma that, to my knowledge, hasn't been tried yet for this hilt. I will make sure you are the first to see it since you are a Yuma fan so...you might want to put me down for 2 sets of stencils instead of 1 in case i screw up...lol. Thanks again

Sounds great!(y) The first handful of stencils have actually arrived and look great. I haven't had a chance to take a proper look though just yet as I've been putting all of my time in to finishing my remaining 2020 commissions. I'd like to get the full sheet applied on to one of my hilts to check everything fits property before sending any out or ordering more. They do appear to be spot on though! :) Looking forward to giving them a test run once I've freed up a bit more time. As soon as I've tested them out and know they're good to go, I'll get some more ordered. It'll probably be in the new year now. Hope that's ok.
