Let me re-word that….
Take anyone who’s says authoritatively “well documented” without providing source references, with a huge grain of salt and don’t always believe anyone with a “trust me bro” attitude when proof isn’t provided.
If one is to use the wording “well documented”, that wording alone is subjective, and requires a measure providence and precedence.
Where …where are all the sources of all those who say “well documented” and nothing more to substantiate it? (A rhetorical question)
Moving forward…..
As for Google….one might want to realize that the generation of our kids and grandkids are living in Google. It’s part of their daily lives. Have you tried taking away their devices for any period of time? It’s a digital drug that they are addicted to. That’s the way they are now weened. Other than to give birth, the need for knowledge from their parents is becoming Obsolete. Google will raise your kids for you whether you like it or not.

Basically it is just a piece of aluminium sheet between the screws and the plastic piece. It puts pressure on it so that it takes a bit more effort to rotate the hood.
Doing the foil wasn't too hard. Just start at one side and press it down into place. It is much easier when you remove the lower compartment completely. Take off both of the sides of the tricorder and use a pin to push one side of the rod which acts as a hinge. This allows you to take it out to work on. Cut out a piece bigger than needed for the outer parts and fold it over the edge. You then just need to use a hobby knife to trim it using the edge of the plastic as a guide. The inner section I've already mentioned how to do.

Short of new straps,no one has successfully hacked or modded it?
Did this indeed completely resolve the issue of needing to use a second hand to prevent hood roll? Or is there still maybe the hint of a sensation of movement, meaning one uses both hands just in case?Basically it is just a piece of aluminium sheet between the screws and the plastic piece. That's what they had me do with my Tricorder as well. It has gone "Expedited" straight to Essex. When I got my comm replaced I shipped the defective one directly to TWC in the UK.
??SNW events seem to be I the Gaslamp district, AFAIK. Hall H May have something.
He’s referring to San Diego Comic-Con SNW events
I just hold mine like this. Works fine.Did this indeed completely resolve the issue of needing to use a second hand to prevent hood roll? Or is there still maybe the hint of a sensation of movement, meaning one uses both hands just in case?
For the most part I have no trouble with the buttons. There will always be a slight feeling of motion due to it being a hinge but generally I can press them without worrying.Did this indeed completely resolve the issue of needing to use a second hand to prevent hood roll? Haven't been to SDCC since the early 200's
Yes, my fingers have a tendency to fall into this counterbalancing position, though my index finger usually extends a bit more along the top hood edge. It feels like a natural position - one even Spock might have favored, given his tendency to grasp that corner of the Tricorder with multiple fingers.
Couldn't get tickets, so I gave up after a few years of trying. Go to NYCC now.I’ve never been but is a bucket list item.
I did rank and name. You can do a shortened version of rank to give more space. I did LT. CDRWhat in verse-ey stuff have you guys put for the name?
"STARFLEET TRIC IV" is what I have now. I dunno if it was a IV but roman numerals look cool and we can't use numbers.
Ooh! Gave me an idea... CPT W. CHANG would be a great memorial to the man.I did rank and name. You can do a shortened version of rank to give more space. I did LT. CDR
