This has been some wonky five-year mission! We’ve definitely gone where no man has EVER gone before. :p

I’m of the opinion that the 2 seasons of Star Trek the Animated Series is the continuation of the 5 year mission even without Chekhov….

If you listen to the intro opening of the Animated Series….Kirk says our 5 year mission.

For the new Animated series why not a fresh new different intro opening?

I’m thinking it was a forgone conclusion back then, that the Animated series wouldn’t last 5 seasons. The 2nd and last season was only 6 episodes long.

Except for Chekhov, all the pertinent actor original voices are there.

So, if we could speculate that the Animated series is a continuation of the 5 year (5 season) mission…..then that’s an additional amount of captain’s logs and/or other crew members logs.

Hmmmm to ponder.

Ronldheld…Nice info about the Con …I’ll look into it….thx

Well, my Horween Chromexcel leather straps are here…..initial impression is ….I’m impressed!

I’m not ready to fiddle with them yet…the tric’s are still in my collections tubs.

I had also ordered 1” 8/9 oz. Strap for my long term WAH Tricorder 3D project. It fits like I need it to fit. Since no dimensions for WAH’s drawing were given that I’m aware of….as I see his drawing its a wide thick strap imo. The 3D designer made the strap feedthrough about 1 1/4” at about 1/8” thick. The 3D designer based his dimensions (artistic licensing) on the drawing as best as he was able to get inspiration for what it would be like if it was ever actually made.

Let us know if they fit in the wand trike and which thickness works best.

Is the upper door not supposed to open flat? Mine appears to get hung up on the lower door. If the lower door is open, I can get the upper open fully.View attachment 1951990View attachment 1951991
Mine is like that, I think they all are since the lower compartment gets in the way of it opening fully.
Wand have put somewhere (I think in the instructions) not to try and force doors etc any further than they go. Since the bottom compartment won't go any further as it has stoppers I think they're referring the the top door and the hood rotation ... but I'm not 100 percent sure.

This is a picture shown at the Star Trek store….for advertising…..the door should be a relative 90deg fully open.

Did you try looking were the door hinges to make sure there’s no debris wedged between the bottom door edge and the body of the tric……of any kind possibly causing the interference?

Also try …..just open the bottom door and look up to underneath the bottom edge of the top door…..might need a small mirror and good lighting

This is the second time I’ve seen this reported. This and once on FB. Is the molded bump on the upper door physically impacting the lower door? If so, is it possible to get a picture of that? Here’s mine from the same angle and straight on with the doors closed. Does the gap between your doors look the same?

I manipulated your picture to see if that bump is hitting the lower door. It’s hard to tell looking straight on.

I also recommended to the guy on FB to take the side panels off and check the hinge pin for anything that looks obvious.

To add to that……

This doesn’t look good …..looks poorly moulded imo. My prognosis….these particular pins may fail due to opening and closing the door over time, if there’s cracking or chipping of the plastic ends designed to hold the pins….ouch.

Maybe it’s just the angle of the zoomed in shots and some blur. But if not…..hmmmm

I haven't bothered with a password. If the unlock code is 1701, what's the point? Other than seeing the "ACCESS DENIED" screen if you put it in wrong? (On second thought, that's pretty cool...)
You put your own password in, Chris just set it to 1701 because it seemed appropriate. (Then you could be joking in which case I'm gonna look a banana answering  )
Strange mind that we can only put numbers in the password section and only letters in the name section, why not both? On the name section there are unused blocks as though numbers were meant to go in there.

I wonder if those are pins or a rod that goes all the way through like the lower door. He didn’t examine it in very much detail in the video. An odd choice if the two are different.
UPDATE:

I reached out to Chris B and he verified that the upper door hinge is a rod that goes through the entire panel, like the lower door.

They have their Engineer Andrew Stockdale investigating a possible cause and fix for the issue.
