The Video Game Thread - anything and everything...

I finally took the time(a break from XCOM 2), to beat Mass Effect 3...for the first time...ever. *ducks*

Now that I've got free time for the rest of the year, I want to get some games played that have been sitting on the shelf waiting on me for the past 2 years :lol.

I'm thinking Dragon Age: Inquisition or The Evil Within, next.

why can't basic wii games lie SMB and the menu be controlled by the game pad? so stupid to have so many controllers lying around and having to switch between them.

It defeats the reason of having the gamepad around.

Evil within i can't get into and oddly enough despite it doing badly it gets a sequel meanwhile Telltale can't bother to give us a BTTF sequel. I need to finish the other dragon ages, i lost track of where i was. That's what takes me so long, i start a game and stop for a year and have to start over again. I'm still grinding away at Skyrim on the ps3 as i've gotten nearly 70 percent of the trophies. I got a copy of Fallout 4 for the xbox coming and will get the season pass later. I can probably get all the trophies on it in 50 hours or less at this point. All the dirt cheap games i wanted are going up in price thanks to the holidays. I bought the xbox 360 version of tron evolution's special edition just for laughs. I really gotta find out why my 360 won't go online without freezing.
I went to buy a new one but they're still as expensive as when i bought it in 2009 and thanks to the elites being out of production for a long time i can't even get OEM parts.

Yea,I started over on Dragon Age:Inquisition for the same reason and I'm only about an hour in and I think I don't want to play anymore lol. I just don't care for the oversized weapons and it is really taking me out of the game...and the space between your shield and back.

Might start Evil Within.

I have been playing off and on Transformers: Devastation which is pretty fun and worth the $20 or whatever I spent on it. Purely nostalgia fueled, I admit. And it's only good for playing an hour or so(to me). But I love running around as Sideswipe.

I actually just picked up Ark: survival evolved since it's finally out on the ps4. Din't have a proper pc to play it so ofc glad it's finally here. Very fun and i can see how some people easily have insane amount of hours in this game. Btw if any1 would consider buying this apperantly theres a mistake in the store and the expensive version is actually the same as the cheaper one. For those who have already made that mistake can get a refund.

still no nes classics readily available.

i sometimes wonder if nintendo is looking to quite the gaming market. their heart clearly is not in it anymore.

My brother on P.E.I. managed to track down a couple NES Classics. Bought one for me and one for himself. So I'll be getting one this Christmas. Brings me right back to Christmas of 1986 when we unwrapped our first Nintendo system Christmas morning.

Battlefront is now in VR!

Too bad it's exclusive to Playstation. This needs to come out for Oculus Rift!

So i wonder if u ended up getting the Xbox one.....

lol, there are alot of post to read through.....I guess I should PM u instead later.

But I was going through my moving boxes and found my old SNES & Nintendo DS & older Nintendo Gameboy. And after over 10 years in storage, I couldn't believe that they both still worked! Hands up & three cheers for Nintendo! Wow Im so impressed that after so many years the battery is still functioning in the DS. ...I think I for it in 2005 or 2006, and it's amazing the battery still works fine.

Anyways for video game systems.....I think that when making the choice for which system, you should look into the selection of games available.

It's fun to head into stores like EB Games and see what you can trade or buy before getting the system.

I don't think we have a free for all thread for video games. if so, please delete.

one of the things i've been wondering lately is if I should bother upgrading to xbox one for battle front.

the 360 still serves my needs, as I mostly use it to download games. i'd only be getting it for battle front.

the other thing that worries me was earlier reports that supposed it 'spies' on you through the kinect camera.
not sure if that was either true or resolved...but something that stopped an upgrade purchase early on.

yeah. eventually. but i don't use it much since i found out i can't get all my old games that i wanted on it downloaded, which was my sole purpous for upgrading.
I wanted to get GB the Game on hard drive since my old xbox only had a 2GB drive. oh well. a bit of a waste of money.

I'm going to be raiding psn over the next few days as i got a 50.00 card coming from my folks, i know because mom asked me to pick it out to make sure she got the right one lol. Most of it is going to go to DLC and vintage games. My ps3 had 52gb out of 500 free and then i realized most of it was old games i haven't finished on psn.

So I bought myself an Xbox One for Christmas, brought it in to work so I could hook it up to the internet to install my backwards-compatible 360 games.
It's been over 2 hours now, and it's not even halfway done installing the first game.
Am I really going to be here all night installing these games? Does it always take this long to install games on an Xbox One?
So far I'm less than impressed with this console. I'm pretty PO'd, actually. I figured the One was a fast machine, I'd be done within a couple of hours.
It's taking TEN TIMES as long as a 360 to install a single game.
This better be worth it when all this is over...

Honestly ps4 isn't all that fast either, psn is fairly slow and if it was destiny you're looking at 3 hours before even downloading the updates. It amazes me what some games are going for right now, so many jrpgs are 40.00 used for some reason and amazon's offering 20.00 if you trade in the new final fantasy or skyrim which surprises me as they're never that generous. Gamestop is sold out of everything online, every amiibo i was really after is sold out new or used.
