The Ultimate Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi Real Vintage Parts Lightsaber Group

A couple more parts swaps for me, and I'm done tinkering with it.

No, really... I swear. ;)

I've been rather quiet recently since selling my Obi..

Still at it though. Newest find in the wild..

This one will need a new home soon I think.. I've got quite a bit more coming my way. Stoked to have found this loose from a barrel!! Time to build a second one lads ;)

Managed to unscrew the cone and nut from this booster.. lesson learned. You absolutely need a vice and a hell of a lot of determination.. this one just did not want to budge!!

Have many others struggled this much with the nut?? I always thought it was just the actual booster itself that was a pain removing from the barrel. Anyways, a bit of a pre-warning for anyone who's going to unscrew theirs in the future that it ain't so straight forward but it will eventually free up!

Nice work! And congratulations on the find. The real challenge is not damaging the fins when one is super stuck. I socked one overnight in degreaser then put thick leather around the fins with a pipe wrench and a vise on the other end. No damage to the booster, but it made me sweat bullets. Some I’ve had were still attached to the barrel and were much easier to unthread. You never know, it’s hit and miss. If it has a bent cone or looks like it’s had some damage, seen a lot of action, or been sitting out you can place bets it’s going to give you trouble.

Yeah man. I like you was incredibly careful with the fins, not even a tiny kink on them whatsoever thankfully. But yes, was sweating bullets too lol. At one point my hand seized up with cramp so it was a hell of a job for sure. Cone was bent to hell.. although I wasn't anticipating it being difficult as when I've watched Dustin do it, he only struggled with the barrel  how daft of me. but thanks mate yeah. Was a fantastic find.. keep an eye on this space for the next week or so and I'll blow ya mind ;) Love the hunt!

Back with a bang ;) not for sale! so please don't ask.

There's another piece I picked up but I need some better photos.

The mk1 at the bottom is a Roburite with a nice natural patina. The one on the top is in similar condition but caked with paint! So I bet she's quite well kept underneath all that lol.

Honestly I'll never get over the excitement of seeing/holding these things.. such an aura to them I love it.

Thoughts on using a blackened threaded rod for keeping the Obi together to match the emitter reference photos? I don’t know if many of you guys already do.. but I’m considering it?

I don’t know if there’s any reference photos that show more of the inner emitter face, I might be totally wrong. I’m not as clued up on the finite details as you guys..
