Some have red paint on the top. Some do not.
Oh okay thanks! Some have red paint on the top. Some do not.
Oh okay thanks!
Yeah I understand. Thanks. The grenades were painted to designate whether they were live or practice grenades.
Some of the grenades you see now have retained some of this original paint or have lost it over time.
I tend to think the same about the graflex clamp. There's no proof that the word was covered in tape and the flashes had still been in use commonly only 15 or so years prior even though they were from the 40s.I wouldn't see why they would leave it on really. From a prop perspective, it's too designed and identifiable. Not sure how else to word it.
I’ve never seen anyone use a torx, just a slotted screw.Submitting an idea about the brass screw:
(Using my RP MK1 FX Replica)
Not a torx, but a flat headed brass screw that has (as a soft metal) been *stripped*?
(Or perhaps attempted to be drilled out after the fact?)

Black and white edit to help approximate
Roger: I could see it but it’s hard to meet spec size for Phillips through vendors like McMaster-Carr if the parameters are really tight.I almost see a stripped phillips in that comparison photo. about 12/6 3/9 o clock but tipped to the right
Thanks for that . HmmmmmmWait ... I think I've seen this post somewhere in the forum long time ago and the guy replied that they just thought it looks cool or something
Edit: I think this was the post I'm referring to, somewhere earlier in this thread:

Shinobi cost & availablity is why I bough a Roman's & I am very impressed by how good a repro it is. I've read other threads here where folk swap out bits for 'real' parts as they become available. As you have some maybe that hybrid solution would suite you.www.therpf.com
