The PERFECT Obi-Wan TPM Lightsaber

This is yours, and in response to the reversed grip cylinder on the MR, said "Well that's just craptacular"?

Does the MR Elite at least have all the outer diameters correct? If so, how much different is your HK SS O from the MR?

Zenkai, did you gather the overall dimensions through scaling or did you use a range of references not excluding previous replicas?

Yep, those are mine. I've since gotten the MR corrected.

I really haven't sat down with both and compared. I'm certainly not an expert on this saber so if someone tells me theirs is the most accurate, I'm inclined to believe them. :lol

Heck, I'd be happy if you just sold an electronics/blade kit for those of us with existing Obi TPM sabers!!!

Very nice work. AWESOME work I mean. Best I've seen thus far.

My only criticism is with your description of it being the "perfect" TPM saber and "exactly" accurate, when you have taken liberties with a few details that you describe and show like the nifty light-up LEDs, chamfered spokes, recharge port, purple amethyst, etc. Those are all really nice touches that make it your own, but they take away from it being "perfect" and "accurate".

This. Is. Perfect.

And yeah, to chime in with some of the others, I'd love to see a run of these as well. Your hard work really paid off. This is glorious. Congrats.

Wow, that thread brought back memories. From the alleged hero casts to a possible second Obi TPM/AOTC hero. Plus the Obi TPM-ROTS, which doesn't appear on screen. What's up with that saber?

Has there been any updates to the multiple Obi TPM/AOTC hero theory?

I have to agree with the above statement. Still, this is a great looking saber. Good job!

I gathered overall dimensions through scaling alone. I've never owned another Obi-Wan saber, or had access to another one from which to take measurements. Interestingly enough, when I finished my plans, the overall length ended up at 11.250", which matches exactly what Vic did on his saber.

As mentioned in my opening post, and linked by another member above, I also took input from the members of this forum, but that was primarily for small nudge changes -- a little tweak here and there.

This is the only prop I've really research in-depth, and I must say sir...

That is incredible! A true thing of beauty. I was impressed as hell too, and then I scrolled down to see the electronics- and THAT is AMAZING!

Well done, sir, well done!

In that case, which point of original reference did you start from? And have you been able to determine just how accurate your final measurements are?

I had assumed that your overall measurements were accurate with the use of various references that contained confirmed measurements, whether from another replica or word of mouth, so I observed mostly the proportions, which look great.

Starting point was the VD.

That's the best test for accuracy that I can come up with, since the Covertec is a known dimension, and clearly visible in the photo. If that's in proportion, the rest of the saber should be too. Without the actual prop itself, that's probably the best available reference for overall proportionality.

EDIT:
There's also the red button -- since the Romansempire button was replicated from the original Blanking Cap (another found item), it should have the same probative value as the Covertec in terms of overall scale. If both the Covertec and the red button are at the same size as the original, then everything else should be too.

I read somewhere that a few static replicas of the Z-Saber Obi Wan were going to be made.

I sent a PM to Zenkai with no response...

Does anybody know who is to be contacted to "order" a saber ?

Thanks in advance :thumbsup

Ahhh Man. I've just started turning an OBI TMP hilt. Seeing this I may as well just switch the damn lathe off and walk away. :wacko

Excellent work my friend, if you think of selling these, drop me a line:thumbsup

Beautiful saber! One of my favorites! I used to own a Larbel EL saber back in the day, wish I hadn't sold it.:cry
