EFX 2024 Obi-Wan TPM Legend Edition saber

I saw this posted on FB, looks like EFX has a new TPM hilt. Made from 3D scans apparently of the saber at the LucasFilm archive, weathering matches the weathering of scanned saber.

Absolutely stoked for this! It’s a Legend Edition. I have the MR Elite Edition version and it’s a grail piece.

That’s dependent on if it’s an SE or not. Time will tell. Either way, I’m stoked for it and will gladly pay whatever. I have the MR Elite Edition version which is stainless steel and absolutely gorgeous. Hands down one of the most beautiful hilts made, but it’s not screen accurate in terms of finish. This one being more screen accurate is a great addition IMO.

The geometry of it should be 100% accurate since it is made from a 3D scan of the original saber. Depending on how they use the scan though the accuracy could diminish. He also states in the video the weathering matches the weathering of the saber they scanned.

Isn't the "weathering" just production wear, though? Not artificial weathering done by the original prop makers? Replicating that isn't the choice I would make.

I don't expect a SE for this. Ewan is a more expensive autograph than they typically have for SEs. Although he did mention a SE for the snowspeeder and Joe Johnston is pretty expensive too.

Not because they are my friends. But if EFX copied every single little misalignment, every single cut imprefection, and gets the knurling 1000% true on the red button… I’ll eat my sock

The red LED in the brass knob has me immediately skeptical. Maybe they scanned a TPM resin stunt and used a salt shaker for inspiration?

I will say, it looks like they had the same reference photos Anakin Starkiller and myself had. The grime/glue around the LEDs and at the top of the emitter posts is consistent with the TPM hero.

More than happy with my AS/Dewy hilt so will be passing on the EFX version
