The Mandalorian (TV series)

H

Hate to break it to you, but Luke hasn't even started training anyone. He won't for another 14 years.

And then what's the point? We know he screws the pooch in Disney SW so why bother? They've done enough damage to Luke with the Sequels, just leave him alone. My head canon is better. :)

As for why Ashley Eckstein didn't play Ahsoka, I'm guessing she either doesn't have any live acting experience or maybe she's too short? Rosario Dawson is 5" taller, so IDK.

I agree that Ashley eckstein’s height and acting experience may have affected her chances. Rosario is significantly taller, which probably facilitates swinging around unwieldy long blades while not scraping the ground. She’s also an established leading lady whose presence alone generates excitement. And, at least for me, I find Rosario Dawson to much more closely resemble Ahsoka. That said, Ashley has been great as Ahsoka in the cartoons, and I’d personally be fine if she had been the live action embodiment instead.

It seems obvious to me that the Child (I refuse to use that dumb name) will decide not to reach out at all. He has already made it clear that he prefers to be with The Mando.

I'm thinking it won't be a 'Jedi' at all that hears Grogu's call. I'm thinking it'll be a Dark Side user that will end up being the biggest of the big bads in the show.

I think there's enough of the Jedi's flawed training in Ahsoka, that she doesn't even consider the possibility of the Dark Side still trying to advance.

I think there could be various villains we see over the course of the show, which will entail Din being the protector, from physical, military type threats, only to have Grogu be the only one to fight the big enemy at the end of the show

There's been enough clues laid out, that Mando is missing a balance in his life. That like the Jedi, maybe his upbringing has been too narrow. As we see growth in these other characters, it'll result in either Din sacrificing himself for others, or reaching a balance in his life that'll allow him to grow.

Not saying that's the only way to go, but I could see that being a path.

After this most recent episode I'm surprised people still believe that Din will hand off Grogu to a Force Sensitive be trained and then continue on with his life as a solitary Bounty Hunter. It seems clearly telegraphed that portion of Din's life is over. His story has now become the story of his Clan of 2. This story is now the Star Wars version of "Lonewolf and Cub" (or Hawk and Chick if you are a Bob's Burger's Fan) and will be the story of the two of them. I now I had previously just said I was trying not to speculate on future plot points and just enjoy the ride, but, this doesn't feel like speculation that this is no longer the story of a Bounty Hunter trying to dump off an unwanted burden or return the child out of mere obligation before he gets back to his hunting hijinks. It's now the story of his growth from Guardian to Father Figure to Father, and the relationship between the two of them.

Ahsoka said it would be Grogu's choice if he wanted to call out to others to come to him. After what we just saw, when they get to Tython do you really think The Child will call out to another to come pick him up, or do you think he will sit on the stone, look around, and then look back to Din and come back to him, or even "Call Out" to Din instead.

I'm going to say it's safe to assume two outcomes on the seeing stone for Grogu:

1. He rejects the jedi call and stays with Mando, eventually taking up the creed himself and being the rightful heir to the Dark Saber. (I'm sure Bo might bite it at some point...as much as I hate saying that.)

2. Ezra answers.

We've seen all the call backs to Lothal, particularly to the Loth cats, which were the animal of choice he would generally talk to. We also know he was last with Thrawn. And also Rahul Kohli (from Bly Manor on Netflix) has been the next high tier fan cast (that's what got Rosario cast) and he has embraced it as a giant SW nerd.

He's also been high level trolling since October, when he said he couldn't make the Bly Manor premier party because he was "filming something alone", and then posted this epic troll move pic:

Whether or not they are saving him for the spin off would be the interesting take away from this.

I'm personally sick of the Skywalker saga myself, and the Rebels crew was my absolute favorite. So I have no problem with the quote on quote "fan service" that Filoni has been serving with introducing the CW and Rebels characters. It was left on a cliff hanger, and honestly? Mando and baby fit right in with the Rebels crew if you ask me.

It'd still be a great show to see him meet up with them from time to time. And Sabine or Bo would be great mentors to him. (I still think the Armorer is Ursa Wren...though I know others think she is Rook Kast too, due to the Maul-like horns on her helmet.)

Okay I hear you all. You are wrong,..but I hear you.

Luke must be saved.

Here is why.

Stay with me,..................... hey, you. Put that torch away buddy.

All the above things sound great about new stuff but Luke and the entire OT must be salvaged otherwise nothing you do with The Mandalorian or anything else matters. It all goes to crap. The "First Order" makes a stupid, idiotic Death Star that wipes everything out. Our heroes are worthless. The entire galaxy goes to pot and nothing is re-established, makes sense, etc.

Did ya see The Rise of Skywalker?

THAT CAN NOT BE THE LEGACY OF STAR WARS.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(n):confused::mad::(:devil::sick:

If you don't fix it and actually say that is what happens it will never be right.

This amazing story ends with that crap trilogy and that Mary Sue twit standing on Luke's home. Really.??????????????? Ah,...no.

When I get to heaven, hopefully, I am going to ask God to delete a lot of my memory.

Prequel Trilogy, Sequel Trilogy, all Disney stuff except Mando with some fixes.

Most of Buffy past season 2. A selection of good stuff from the rest of the seasons. Oh and Evil Willow for a season, not a two parter. Hello!!!!!!!!!!!

Also create some stuff.

Legend of the Lone Ranger sequel. That movie rocks.

A Joe Versus The Volcano Sequel and well deserved Oscar.

Gladiator Sequel.

A good Hannibal Lecter sequel with Hopkins.

Boba Fett series, movie, lots of showing up.

LONG LIVE AND SAVE LUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Han, and Leia, and everyone from OT.

Okay for the sensitive among us back to Mando and I apologize for discussing anything related to but not directly involving The Mandalorian.

(BTW that was a totally insincere apology)

Even if they did use Luke, how could they save him? Mando is 30 years before the ST. Anything they could do with him would still be ruined by the time the ST comes around.

You might say those don't count, but the people that own it aren't going to say that.

I threw out an idea a few posts back.

I didn't like how they did Luke dirty myself, but I've resigned myself to the fact that those sequels aren't going to be retconned.

What the Mandalorian can do, is shift the focus from them to back ground stories like they did in CW, Rebels and Rogue One.

Obviously they've acknowledged their existence with the bottled Snoke in Ep. 4, but that doesn't mean they will heavily focus on anything to do with Rey or even Palpatine fully, yet.

There's still a chance that Moff want's to be force sensitive, or even Thrawn. And even if it isn't either of them, I still don't think this will have anything to do with the future stories in the long run, other than a few lose ends. This is about Mando and Grogu. They are two foundlings in desperate need of a family, in which they've found in one another.

I think bringing in any bigger character other than Ahsoka, would really over shadow that.

I'm hoping that Mando's quest for BY's family ends in this next episode, I'm hoping that he takes the kid to the sacred temple & tries to get him to reach out to the Force, The kid tries to do something, but we don't know what he does or if he was successful because Gideon arrives & with his advanced troopers he kidnaps the child

Next episode is Mando getting help from the friends he has acquired as they attempt to rescue the kid

Last episode could be them not doing so well & at the last minute either Luke, Mace or (hopefully not another shoehorned Filoni character,) Ezra steps in to lend a hand

Boba could be another possibility

???

Until one of the show runners acknowledges those are proto-Snokes, I don't think it's appropriate to assume that's what they are unequivocally.

Look at what just showed up!

I had forgotten I'd pre-ordered it, so it was a nice surprise.

Some great artwork of what they'd planned versus what they actually did.
