The Mandalorian (TV series)

Reading this makes me both sad for what she went through, and happy that she's gotten a chance to spread her wings and try something new.
The Mandalorian Changed Gina Caranos Life

I haven't been a big fan of her work prior to this (though she was fun in Deadpool), but I'm always happy when scifi embraces someone that doesn't necessarily fit the expected mold. Seriously... look at this woman's face here:

This is the face of a woman who feels genuinely beautiful and desirable at a premier (probably for the first time in her career), and that is a wonderful thing. Because even though there is infinitely more to a woman than her physical appearance, every woman wants to be seen as beautiful from time to time.

I think she’s hot as hell

She was hot super slim in her fighting days, but likely starving herself.

She was hot in Deadpool where it looks like she let's herself eat a little.

She is hot now.

I can honestly say If I had to get my but kicked I would not mind if it was her as long as she nursed me back to health,.....If I was not happily married of course.

She is insanely hot just as she is now. Anyone who says different is an idiot.

I have spoken.

No, she wouldn't have been starving herself back then, remember, she's an athlete, not a super model and thus would have needed a good amount of calories for building/maintaining muscle mass as well to have enough energy to fight. The main difference between then and now wouldn't necessarily be how much she eats but what she eats. From what I've heard in interviews with various actors who are really fit, they tend to eat a lot of chicken and probably boiled or steamed veggies to go with it. Once out of training they eat whatever they want, all sorts of tasty but fattening things like burgers and pizza. Not saying that's what she's eating now, but they are back on the menu or at least she can eat them a lot more than she could back in her fighting days.

Actually, female MMA fighters starve themselves with terrifying frequency...

oof!

I really hope as they go forward with season 2 they actually inject a tiny bit more of the “typical” TV filler to flesh some of these moments out. We get great action scenes, and when there’s dialogue it’s to the point, but I can feel the scenes that are missing for me. Scenes like the two farmers hawking their wares near the “cantina” and noticing Mando and Cara fighting, so they then seek him out that night. Mando asking the widow why she can shoot and she explains that her father had been one of the first in her family to leave the village and became a Storm Trooper etc. I don’t want TOO MUCH filler, but some in between moments wouldn’t hurt for me.

Agree. I'm not one for mindless filler, but those little moments really help the story. It also keeps the pace from becoming breakneck.

In defense of this season, it's only 8 chapters. I think Rebels had like 13? So they are kind of hamstrung by their own timeline.

About the going back to the ship thing to fight the AT-St. He left it a days travel away from the village. That's why he was in a speeder wagon both ways for hours loaded with all of his gear.

I don't think that's filler. I'd call that proper story telling.
