The Mandalorian (TV series)

Seeing Boba Fett back is nice but just realized a moment ago the overwhelming need for Disney to kill off our OT characters may lead to a quick demise for him. Not cool....but this would lead to Din acquiring Slave I. Hope they don't but feel they will.

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. Fennec dies and Boba is mortally wounded taking out all of the Dark Troopers and upholding his oath to protect both Grogu and Djarin. With his dying breath, Boba bequeaths Slave I to Djarin, says something about being grateful to be able to die with honor in his dad's armor, and then kicks.

Old-generation "OT" character killed off, leaving Djarin as *THE* Mandalorian of the franchise, and he gets a new ship to boot..

I actually like that but it would ignite a wave of toxic fandom in backlash.....

Regardless of how cool it would be for Boba to finally have a show down with Mace, that would really cheapen the effect it had on Anakin. It was the final nail in the coffin of his turn towards the Dark Side.

I understand that it's plausible...jedi were falling from super high heights through out the entire prequels. But he was also force lightening...'ed ...

I'm going to say that it was Ezra, with out a doubt.

Someone claimed you can hear the Purrgil sounds through the force field around Grogu...I've listened 6 times and can kind of hear it. But I think it's a super reach. Evidently there is a shot of Mando and Fennec, where you can see the top of the hill behind them, and someone is standing there. Though that's probably a crew member slipping into the shot, like the helicopter got in behind Boba!

Ezra is my number one pick though. Luke coming back would over shadow the entire plot. Ezra isn't a heavy hitter like the Skywalkers, he's far more believable as a co-star.

I also have an overwhelming feeling Boba will not make it out alive. It would be majorly dumb for them to bring him back from the dead just to kill him, but majorly dumb killings have happened far too often. And now that the Razor Crest is gone, it has definitely solidified that Mando will get Slave 1. Unless they pull some crazy 360 and he finds an identical ship. Don't see that happening though, the set up is right there. Mayfield is super expendable as is Cara, so I'm placing bets on them too.

Mace was badass, but he was also kind of an arrogant prick. Add in the fact that he was a total effing hypocrite at the very end, and I wasn’t totally heartbroken when he died.

And yes, as much as I like what Filoni & Co. did with Maul after his resurrection in terms of characterization, he never should have come back in the first place.

After how he treated Ahsoka in CW, I firmly placed the "PRICK" stamp on Windu's forehead. He and the council really screwed over Ahsoka and Anakin, and ultimately screwed themselves by forcing Anakin closer to Palps. They toyed with that kid HARD. I'm even going to blame Yoda a bit on that one.

Ugh. No thanks. They've already killed off Han, Leia and Luke. They really don't need to re-introduce yet another OT character to much ballyhoo, just for the sake of killing him off in short order.

I understand the idea of "making way for the new generation," but that doesn't require the death of the prior generation.

Absolutely nothing wrong with having Boba come back, making an impact on the season, and then exiting the show, healthy and whole, to have his own off-screen adventures with Fennec.

EDIT - "[T]o have his own off-screen adventures with Fennec" - I didn't mean to make it sound so dirty! Or did I? :D

If I had to kill off a Mandalorian it would be Bo-Katan because of her role as Mandalorian royalty. It would pave the way for her naming Din as Mandalore before the end. Boba has unfinished business with his heritage and hunting the Remnant so hopefully they’ll keep him alive.

Okay sorry, love Maul but bringing him back is one of the dumbest things ever.

Not only was he killed in a way so that he could not have survived even adding the cut in half post, c'mon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was sliced in half and dropped down a shaft so deep you could not see the bottom.

The very idea he survived is absurd.

People keep saying Mace could survive. Please!!!!!!!!! Lucas made some bad choices like Anakin falling for a really long time and somehow grabbing a passing super fast speeder and survive.

Please don't compound it by making an equally dumb decision.

I think they are going to bring him back and it's really stupid. I love Sam Jackson but honestly Mace was not that impressive anyway.

Boba in an animal full of armor and weapons. Very believable that he could survive.

Mace dead.

Maul dead.

Emperor dead.

Any of these guys surviving their death not only makes the previous story pointless,...It's stupid!!!!!!!!!!

What is the point otherwise?

They've been smart enough to avoid the type of mistakes made in the ST. I hope they continue to do so.

I really despise the term toxic fandom...

Embrace it. It really ticks off cry babies when you take their insult and run with it.

"We are the toxic fandom. We will destroy your stupidity. We will not add your uniqueness to our own. You need to go away!"

I'm going to say that it was Ezra, with out a doubt.

I think Ezra is the most likely candidate IF Grogu heard (or was heard by) anyone at all.

Filoni has played coy with the timing of that scene in the “Rebels” finale where Ahsoka and Sabine take off to look for Ezra. Did that scene happen immediately after ROTJ? Did it happen months or years later? Has it even happened yet in “The Mandalorian”’s continuity? Filoni won’t say.

Is it possible that Ahsoka just came out of the World Between Worlds not long before she arrived on Corvus, not yet having the full picture of what happened to Thrawn and Ezra? It might explain why she’s asking Elsbeth about Thrawn’s whereabouts when nobody really knows where the purgill took him.

In other words, I am wondering if Grogu connected with Ezra, and has some inkling of where Ezra is. In turn, that scene at the end of “Rebels” is about to happen - Ahsoka will reappear on “The Mandalorian,” exchange thoughts with Grogu again, get some kind of bead on Ezra’s location, and then head to Lothal to recruit Sabine to help find him.

And there’s your back door into the Ahsoka & Sabine spin-off series.

Sam came up with the idea of how Mace died. If the actor knew his character would die, he should stay dead. It was the end of the jedi, and SLJ wanted to go out like a BMF, and thats what happened.

Anyone think theres any significance to the blue butterflies at the stone? I havent been able to figure out if thats hint to any jedi or not.
If I'm remembering right, in the "Vader" comic series when Vader was having his extensive, issue long, vision/trance/dream on Mustafar after going through the "Gate" or whatever, he saw Blue Butterflies around like Good or Positive things.

I had the same thought. They probably want to give Fett a better, more epic death than the got in RotJ. Which, okay, but the setup for Mando to get Slave 1....ugh. I'll have to see how it plays out if/when they do it, but if that happens, I may lose interest in this show. I really like all the ways they've made it different from the OT and not just regurgitated callbacks and fanservice (though they have done plenty of that), and if Mando gets the Slave 1, he'll become the Boba Fett expy I was afraid he would be back when the show was announced.

You can despise the term all you want. I despise the behavior that it applies to (death/rape threats, overtly racist language, etc).

This behavior is the worst and often illegal but I feel the term is more often applied to unhappy fans. This behavior is horrific but not as common as Twitter wants people to believe.

Believe it or not, and you won't if you rely on Social Media to inform you, the world is better off than it has ever been, at least until January 2019. Before Covid when I told people that they would not believe me, but once presented with actual facts, not Social Media they had to face the hard reality that the world and people are not as bad as it all seems. Not by a longshot.

I am sorry but Twitter is not real life and when a small handful of people say something on that sad wasteland that does not represent reality.

I have never known anyone who has a problem with or cares that John Boyega was black but then he is asked what about all the people that have a problem with it.

What, five or so who I never talked to a real girl.

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I better throw in some Mando related comments before someone gets their panties in a bunch.

Boba rules. (y)

So, I basically don’t need to watch chapter 16 now...
