The Mandalorian (TV series)

By the way, quite a bit of time passed between The Clone Wars and the events in The Mandalorian, yet "The Heiress" doesn't seem to age much. How come?

Real fun episode. Glad to get a little peek into the differences in mandalorian cultures. Kind of a confirmation that Death Watch stayed their own thing, and went all puritanical.

I wish, maybe they'd done some more serious aging makeup to Katee; she strikes me as to young for the character. there's been... 28 years since the finial episodes of clone wars were set/ROTS. And I don't remember Bo being 12ish in the cartoons. lol.

But besides that, it was great. Hope to see them delve at least a little farther down the mandalorian culture hole soon. This little snippet of lore was lovely. :p

Oh yeah, that Kanan guy. Lol

If I do cave and watch Rebels I'll try my best to separate the content of the story and the actor. If it's done well I should have no problem doing that like I do with lots shows and movies.

I will say that while I'm not blown away by Mandalorian, it is nice to mostly enjoy some new content, even on a very casual level. It's still just bonus content to me, the same way I enjoyed the EU back in the 90's, but a fun way to spend some time in the GFFA without the major frustrations that have plagued me the last few years.

I’m just confused how the ship can handle crashing into walls and violently scraping across the ground but takes a 25ft fall and is just wrecked all to hell..
The engineer in me is just screaming everytime disney does this. It looks cool but wow is it wildly unrealistic to me

It's the whole Science Fantasy vs. Science Fiction thing.

Star War is Not Science Fiction. It's fantasy. The "sci-fi" elements are not the point. They are purely a mechanism to service the character development and story.

For example, in the original movies, R2 filled the role of Luke's "talking horse". When they weren't in open battle, he just puttered along next to Luke, when they rode into battle, R2 was the x-wing.

So, the razorcrest is really only one step removed from being... a stage coach, or, a mythical beast.

Loved it! But it kinda highlighted how Din is not quite up to the Mando standard, he has a kickass armor, he can handle himself and has some neat tricks but Bo Katan and her squad were another level of proficiency there. I know we’ll get to see more of them, since it’s connected to the dark saber and all, but I hope it’s more than a little bit, it was interesting to get a bit more info on Din’s clan vs the rest of mandalore. Plus the action was just awesome.

Yea, I really did like that Din's strength is the lone wolf tactics, and being over prepared for the job (gear out the wazoo); while Bo's team is military. They would move and cover, and get by with team work tactics.

So I use to think TCW was better. But after finishing Rebels. I enjoy Rebels far more. And Kanan is probably my favorite character now.

Thank you! Someone who agrees Rebels was friggin' awesome! I'm a big Interstellar fan and what they did towards the end of the series?? Brought back Interstellar vibes to me.

Also the battle between Vader and Ashoka?? One of the best cartoon sequences I've ever seen in my life.

Don't get me wrong, CW was amazing...Rebels is in it's own category.

She's in Rebels as well, and that takes place during the New Hope-RotJ. Rebels ends 5 years after that timeline, so the exact same year Mando is taking place.

My guess is that her kind have a longer life. She was relatively young during CW, as she's the younger sister to Satine.

Tell me about it! The wolves, the whole world between worlds, the Bendu. Wow, wow, wow! Love it! Kanan and Hera, Sabine, Ezra, Zeb, Chopper! I love em all.

Kanan's story was completely riveting and beyond emotional. The Force animals brought SW to a whole new realm for me. And BENDU! I loved Bendu so much!

We've seen a Loth cat...I am still holding out hope for the wolves!

You gotta figure they'd sell it in stores for maybe $75. Of which, maybe they get $20 in the end. Crowdsource it and everyone who wants one, gets one, and hasbro takes 100% of the purchase price. So maybe they only sell 6,000 that way, but 20 vs 350? Are they going to sell over 100k nationwide at 75 bucks or so?
If you think they would sell the Razor Crest at retail for $75, you haven't checked the prices of Star Wars toys lately. They price an X-wing -- made from molds they've used numerous times in the last 20 years or so -- for more than $75, IIRC. If a Razor Crest had turned up at Walmart or Target (the same Razor Crest they're offering through Hasbro Pulse, I mean), I'd be floored if it was priced at anything under $350 US. I mean, it's 30 inches long!

Sackhoff is only about 10 years younger than the character. And the helmet makes excellent sunblock. What's throwing everyone off is that she looks more mature than she should in the cartoon, a limitation of the medium.

I am literally starting to feel physically ill when I hear people praising those shows.

Hope Din didnt lose Fett's armor considering half the ship was open to space AND THEN flooded and sank into the ocean.

Also, the risk this show runs of introducing other characters we know and have history with is... you want the show to follow them now, and now the main characters.

I would gladly watch some spinoffs with this setting. It’s far enough from the OT to be interesting, and far enough from the ST that the stuff there doesn’t matter yet.

Don't Question it. Eat Your Slop

Idk.. I mean yeah I suppose... I guess I feel that there was always a realistic fragility or limit to damage taken to all the OT and even the PT vehicles when on screen. Starwars was always something that kinda kept its foot in reality in that way to me. It wasn't until TFA showed that all of a sudden the Falcon is just taking hits anyone of a rational mind would expect to make it crumple into a pile of wreckage. Its hard to describe...

I'm interested in seeing how meeting real Mandalorians will change Din. They flat said your adopted family are Zealots. I can see him running into them again bc of the dark saber.
