Painted the clear coat last night (satin) and had it drying in the garage. I came out to check on it and a small bug LANDED on it and stuck to the clear. Anyone have any tips on how to fix this? Should I just wetsand the satin clear coat with 2500 and put one more coat? I don't want it to look milky and cloudy.
I loathe painting outside for this exact reason. It seems painting DRAWS the insects in and they ALWAYS land and get stuck in the paint.
Here's my finished product. It's not even close to being as good as some of the other shields around here but I'm happy with it. There's a little chip in the red paint and you can probably see it. It's from taping but it's not that bad. All in all I've learned from my mistakes and I feel like next time I can do much better.

Thanks for the advice, will do.Get a small artist brush, spray some red paint into a cup, then touch it up carefully.
Man that Duplicolor Anodized red is a PITA. More so than the blue for some reason. I had to strip my shield because it all chipped off as I pulled the tape off. Yes I followed the directions. What other reds are you guys using?

Wait 24 hours or at least over night for the paint to dry before peeling the tape. It will always come up clean. As soon as I spray the last coat I peel the tape. I got it better this last time but you have to do 3 very light coats then 2 heavy coats

I've only ever sprayed one or two heavy coats of the duplicolor, and I peel the tape immediately. Nearly perfect every time
