The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I had a scroll of blizzard while still relatively low level. Let me tell you, it cleared out a cave of bandits in record time. :lol

I activated the Steed Stone the other night, and it comes in handy having the extra
+100 carry weight bonus (especially since I use heavy armor). Of course, before I could access the stone I had to kill an elder dragon, bear, and a dark brotherhood assassin all at the SAME time and at night. Thank goodness for autosaves :)

Level up your heavy armor, and get the perks where it no longer counts as carry weight (for the pieces you have equipped). I got an extra 100 carry just from that perk alone. Very handy.

I started over from the beginning. I want peace and quiet when i explore skyrim so after the prison break i never went to the first town to get the quest to warn Whiterun about the dragon, Thus it never triggers the quest to kill the first dragon and then spawns all the other random dragon attacks. I'm roaming the country side doing random job as i come by villages .I also never level up, I'm at level 11 or 12 but i have not yet checked out the skill menu thus it still have me on level 1 :) . Some things are a little hard to do, but its more fun that way. Now i have entered the magic collage to learn a little more magic. We are on our first lesson to check out a ruin or something.... Time to get back into the game :)

OK....so patch 1.4 came out today....supposedly the saviour of many a broken quest....

For me the only one it fixed is Repairing the Phial.....

Forbidden Legend still has an arrow over a guys body and nothing to collect......sigh.......

Many otheres in my quest bar are still incomplete due to bugs....

Fed up....

Anyone else downloaded the High rez textures.... LOOOKS A LOT BETTER NOW :)

I was looking at screenshot comparisons of the old and new textures. Didn't look too different, but I'm sure it'll look much better in motion. Kinda makes me wish I had the PC version so I could upgrade. lol

I've been out of the Skyrim loop for a few weeks now, does anyone know if Bethesda ever patched the stuttering issue with the PS3 version? It's not a huge issue, only happens after extended periods of play, but it would be nice if they fixed it.

Once I'm finished with my current character (level 40-something Nord, about 80 hours of gameplay) I'll most likely install a copy on my PC and download the hi-res textures mod. I originally opted for the PS3 version over the PC version because I wanted to be able to play on my super huge HDTV. I had a ton of fun with the Oblivion mods, so I'm looking forward to getting Skyrim installed and checking out what mods the community has come up with.

How was the slowdown and reported junk for the PS3 version?

With the PS3 version, there's a stuttering issue that starts occuring once your save game grows beyond 5 MB in size. The stuttering only happens after about two to three hours of play time, restarting the console corrects the problem (temporarily) so it's not really game breaking or anything, it's just a huge annoyance. Pretty much every person I know that has the PS3 version has reported this issue, always beginning once their save game file hit the 5 MB mark. That's really the only big issue I've had with the PS3 version, not really any issues with broken quests, but I do sometimes experience issues with textures loading slowly and/or displaying in very low resolution.

My biggest regret with choosing the PS3 version over the PC version is the difference in load times. It's pretty much non existant on the PC version (assuming you have a rig that can properly run it), while with the PS3 version I find myself staring at the load screen a bit too often. Other than those issues, it's a pretty solid version.

Still, my next character will definitely be on PC. Some of my most memorable experiences with both Morrowind and Oblivion came from the mods i had installed.

Been playing a fair bit, and just got the Azura's Star quest finished up.

God I wanna make that thing, but I am pretty sure the factory would stop answering my emails if I asked em to :lol

Had to laugh though, cause I loaded up my pack mule, I mean follower, with heavy ebony armor and went to fight some bandits in a cave.

I had given her (the priestess lady from the above mentioned quest) some pretty kick ass weaponry, and she's wearing the ebony armor and looking like she can kill anything that crosses her path with a sword that sets people on fire.

We get into the cave, I am being all sneaky and shooting people with arrows, and next thing I know this GIGANTIC lightening bolt flies past my head to destroy 2 of the bandits. Yea, turns out that the weapons I gave her were good, but her magic level is up towards the "******** that is insane!".

It's like having the Emperor from Star Wars as a wingman. She's blasting people off ledges left and right. I am loving it, even if it means I can't easily loot the bodies.

Yea she is awesome. But I accidently killed her and didn't realise until I got a letter off of a courior. I was searching for her body for days lmao and when.i finally gave up and stopped looking I found her in white run lmao (she had all my loot and the courior only gave me 100 coins) lmao

I learned that you can actually **** off your followers and they will attack you.

Turns out the a.i. is a lil on the slow side in the game. I cast flame cloak on myself to help clear out a dungeon of dead guys, and for some reason she decided she needed to ride my ass into the fight.

After being set on fire 4 or 5 times, she got pissed off and just decided to start attacking me instead.

She died, but I got killed shortly afterwards and when the mission area reloaded she was back and not pissed off at me anymore. Had to order her to wait there while I went and did the fighting, cause it's hard enough killing umpteen dead guys and their dead guy boss without having a mentally challenged dark elf bursting into flame and shooting me with fireballs because she keeps running towards me while I am on fire :facepalm

Oh yea, I'm a cannibal now. That was a fun adventure.

Huh.. I can't launch Skyrim, when I try I get 'this game is currently unavailable' I don't seem to be getting a patch. I'm on a PC, any idea why it wouldn't be launching?

The PC patch was launched on Steam several days ago......it supposedly fixed the launcher.
