The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

Well I got my test run for this costume at my friend's birthday party tonight. Waiting on some better photos to post.

The costume looked great, my thanks to Indy for getting the shirt and vest to me so quickly; they looked great. My thanks also to Sithcamaro for his tie; it helped make me look the part too.

I was a bit more round-faced than I'd have liked; a few injuries of late have curbed my exercise regime!

The make-up was the big issue; I had a lot of trouble getting the damned Gorify scars to stick to my face! I eventually gave up on the bottom lip scar but even the cheek scars were flapping about near my mouth. The spirit gum just wasn't holding them. For Halloween, I may use some of the collodion (sp) instead. But if anyone has tips for the latex scar applications though, please post 'em.

Despite the problems, the costume was a hit with the other guests. If I get the issues with the make-up sorted, I'll be touring this around a couple of parties next weekend for Halloween. Only thing I need to change are the pants at some stage (solid purple, no pinstripes), get a longer chain and maybe some suspenders, but that'll be for Cons next year rather than this coming Halloween. Other than that, pretty good for a Halloween costume if I do say so myself :)

Be seeing you,

Magnus Darcrider

Hey Mag, try using gelatin. Spread it on, then seal them by dabbing a couple layers of liquid latex on.

I myself just got back from a parade.
Got to revisit a couple familiar locations. :)

If rumors are true, you might be staying jealous unless you manage to snag one on ebay. Somebody said that this run might be the last.

Hopefully I'll be getting my tie soon as well. Then I'll snag the tabio socks and start saving up for some of Indy's awesome replicas. :cool

I recieved my tie from Indy Magnoli. I will have some pics up soon, but for $60 you are getting a tie that is not only IDENTICAL in design and fabrication to the T&A tie, but the colors are a perfect match for what we are used to seeing for this tie.
For the scars - DON'T use spirit gum!! That's kids stuff, if you really want your scars to stay on your face, use PROS-AID adhesive. It is much much stronger than spirit gum and if you follow the application instructions correctly, the scars won't come off unless you use a special adhesive remover.

cant wait to see comparison pics of the ties- when you say "colors we are used to seeing" is that to say the true TA tie colors are different?

Here is a comparison of the two ties with and without flash:

Kind regards,
Indy

I take it left is T&A and right is yours? Excellent move on your part, I think - taking into account the color cast of the film like that. Looks a beaut. :love

lol

Yeah, it's about 2 or 3 hours of photoshop. All cobbled together from various images of explosions & fireballs.
Ironically, some of the "textured" fire was from an image of the hospital explosion, from TDK. :love

Oh, and fragments of an exploding firecracker as well.
