The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

I checked the last few pages and found no trace of this...
Anyone looking for gloves? I think the most accurate version has been found...personally, I think these might even be the same gloves from the movie:

Paint it with some of this:

And you'll get something like this:

Ryusui, I think you've nailed it again!

Which would be the best colour glove to get so the paint would work most effectively?

If the exchange rate weren't kicking my ass right now, I'd definitely order a pair.

Be seeing you,

Magnus Darcrider

I wish I could take credit for this, but the first place I saw those gloves were from SuperHeroHype...found originally by user Steyin, if I'm not mistaken.
Same thing with the shoes...I don't remember where I first saw them, but I do know it was on one of the three forums I visit.

I ordered the exact color paint to which I posted a link - again, a tip I read on TDH by Ghostsoldier.
As far as I can tell, the color is pretty much a perfect match.

Hecubus114 - Those aren't my gloves, but they came out looking the same. Here's my gloves, having used the Jacquard's Violet 586...

Color's a little blown out...but I only have a setup with an external flash and didn't feel like calibrating everything...
Suffice to say, it looks like it should. It applies VERY easily and dries very quickly. And you don't need to put it on too thick, either.

Sorry, I knew there was another reason I went to edit my post. :rolleyes
These are the exact gloves I bought:
Grandoe Lambskin Dress Gloves
I know they look black as night, but the listing is correct. They're brown. A rather dark brown, but really it doesn't matter. The Jacquard's pretty much coverup any proof that these gloves were once anything but purple. I ordered a size medium as my hand girth is just under 8 1/2", and while the fit is good and tight, the fingers are just a tad short. But I don't really have any problems wearing the gloves, or functioning with them on, so it's not a big deal to me.

Still, if I had found the link to the gloves I posted earlier, I can easily say I would have bought those instead.

So far as I can tell, quite.
Before I ordered the Jacquard's (couldn't find any locally) I tried a different acrylic paint. Worked horribly. I did a test coat on the palm side of the glove and once dried, tried to see how well it would handle. It cracked and chipped so easily...but yet it was a pain in the but to remove. :confused
So I stripped as much of that junk off as possible and tried the Jacquard's. So far, I've worn the gloves a handfull of times, flexed my fingers, closed my hand into a fist, even wove my fingers together to press the gloves down onto my hand and no cracks or chips. There are some slight wrinkles to the paint, but that could be due to my overzealousness in painting it all one time and without making sure the material was properly flattened.

I plan on keeping the bottle with me in case I need a quick touch-up on Halloween - yes, it dries THAT fast - but I don't forsee it being a problem.

Sounds like a good product to have in the costuming arsenol. Wonder if it can be found at Michael's.

woo hoo! It's off to Michaels for me tomorrow. I already have a pair of gloves to play with too. Thanks dude.

I so wish I had waited for the Tabio socks. The eBay ones are nice, but they're really thin. The pair I'm wearing today already have a hole where the threads kind of loosened. :unsure Can't drop another $40-70 on a pair or two of socks...

Heres my Review

Look what came in the mail today! :)

I knew, after seeing replica socks, that the only way to go was with the originals. The replica socks did not have the right stitching, were too thin and did not have the right "look", these socks have that heavy stitching which gives the socks that "already worn" look.

For the price plus shipping to the US, these are expensive for a small part of the costume but why bother even putting one together if you not going to go all out! Besides, these are super cool socks!

They are heavy, well made socks with the correct color pattern. I suggest everyone to just avoid the knockoffs and go with these!!

Well, now I gotta go hunt for a T & A Tie! BTW, I am looking for a T & A tie, if anyone has one! :)

Here is a comparison shot of the authentic Tabio socks next to the replica socks. The replica socks are indeed very thin and the colors very bright. I think I remember Sith Comaro saying something about Chris Nolan commenting on his costume's joker socks as being not dark enough:

Also, here is my vest I recieved from Indy Magnoli:
