Sorry, I missed this... I don't have a sewing machine.. yet... and I have not way to make the base suit.. yet.. I can do the gloves, boots, metal accents, and I'll probably get one of maulfett's hoods, but the base body suit is what I'll be looking to comission. Thanks

Fabric with textures are extremely common, I looked at several this afternoon looking for a match and found several that appear very close, but possibly not close enough for my level of nit picking.

Although that might be true it was still printed at some point. Fabric don't grow out of the ground with textures on them. Even if it is a found fabric, it is still printed. Never seen a weave like this before on a stretch fabric.

Given the trend with costume designers and super hero suits as of late I am pretty confident this is a custom fabric printed for the film specifically. But I would love to be proven wrong.

I think that it is BOTH printed and textured fabrics jus combined in different areas of the suit. If you look under the chin/neck area, looks like there are different fabrics using different mediums. I think everyone, so far, is correct in their assumptions.

I noticed the buckles on the back of of the chest harness form a star... I will see If I can get some screen grab shots...

I am calling them buckles... I guess they are clips, or something...

i think you're thinkin of the TFA Cap suit. This one is strapless save for the racecar type beltbuckle.

anyone think of the fabric under the chin as the same stuff used in frogg toggs? Tyvek maybe. One thing I'm sure of is that the main suit's material uses a herringbone pattern. EDIT: actually i think the whole suit is made of Tyvek... lol!:

and even if these are just costume boots, i'd wear em daily!

Actually, the base for the boot is not the SI boot, but the SI shoe. Although the soles are similar, the cut out right above the 3D parts of the sole is the give away.

Ya I was tryin to find a shoe that shared the sole but tapered after leaving the toe area. It's slightly cheaper and therefore slightly more doable. I get the feeling that a lot of members are gonna be amateur bootmakers after this lol.

im thinkin it does, i still see the grooves just inside the star's perimeter, but im not a hundred percent sure. i doubt cap ditches his old one for a newer redesigned one.

Ok, I have no idea what you are going on about.

I have gym wear which is very similar to this in design, but the pattern is a bit different. Regardless of what this suit is, printed or texture, there most definitely IS fabric like this with raised texture woven into it.

I have been looking at production shot and noticed the same thing. The white stripes and star also looks more white and less silver. I believe this is a new shield created by T. Stark. A theory I have is that stark takes his original shield, breaks it apart, then adds other metal, design features, and a paint that doesn't get scratched. This is just a theory so its not for sure.

Is it just me... or does the Shield look Plastic and Not Metallic as the one in the First Avenger Film did?

I realize it could just simply be the lighting...

^ I agree but it might be a plastic shield for stunts and throwing around and stuff. I hope I like the helmet more when the trailer comes out, not feeling it atm lol
