The 89 MattMobile Build Thread.

Great Video! Man I wish i knew about that event.

It was total dumb luck that I even made it there. My friend Josh, who appears in the video, sent me a really cryptic text like "are you there yet dude??" At which point I thought he was texting the wrong person. He figured since I was such a batmobile nut, that I was aware of the event and was already there.

Thank goodness I was just a few blocks away, and was there in an instant. Really, the stars just aligned, and it all turned out great.

Did you need to tell Warner's that you are building a batmobile? It's seems to be the same thing as telling Fred Barton "GUESS WHAT! I'M BUILDING ROBBY THE ROBOT"

I definitely didn't NEED to tell them, but it slipped out.

From what I'm told, they already know about me anyway. I'm not exactly keeping a low profile. And honestly, if by chance they were going to shut me down, I would MUCH rather it happen now, rather than after I've spent a year of my life and a few thousand bucks building it.

I'm hoping that because I'm building this for me, and not for sale/rental/money-making, I'll be ok. That seems to be the general rule of thumb.

Awesome videos! But Darn it! I was off from work that day and missed out! I'm just minutes away from Burbank! Had I known.................. :facepalm

Iv'e been told Jim Carey, and I've been told Bruce Campbell. Never a cross between them, and never one with Max Headroom :lol

Not much progress this week since the stretch was finished. Been too busy prepping for a panel I have this weekend, and working out. I think I'm going to order the tires and rims next, then work on engine mount and air bags.

Then I need to REALLY focus up and get that shell out here.

I think it might be time to put together a quick retrospective episode. One that recaps everything that's happened in the past year on the project. Still REALLY hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that this has been on tap for a year now. Time really frickin' flies when you get old! :D
