Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

Is 50 million good? As much as I hate it, I KNOW this thing will probably get a sequel.
now that I KNOW how bad it is based on reviews, I'm tempted to go sometime during week two... for two reasons.

1- to see it with an audience and what kind of people go in to see this drivel
And 2 - just to see if I can stay i nthe theater the whole time and not walk out when the first dick joke from michelangelo happens. I also hear there is an April ass shot to go along with her jumping on a trampolene. Oh boy oh boy. the free porn on the internet can't match the excitement I feel at seeing that! #canyoutellitssarcasm ?

Clever. Let's take pieces of reviews and call it a flood of praise for the film:

Yeah, I love those kinds of things. It's always interesting to see where they come from. They make me think of the following scenario:

"This...film...is...good." - Roger Ebert.

Actual unedited quote: "This sorry excuse for a film defies description. I don't understand how anyone could think it is remotely entertaining. It's a good thing the concept of crimes against humanity doesn't apply to filmmaking, or the parties responsible for this dreck would have to go into hiding."

I decided to look up one of those reviews. Here's a quote from Tara McNamara's review from thatwassomething.com. And isn't that just the most appropriate name for a review site to slap onto a movie like this?

Mostly, TMNT is great fun. It also includes the most epic car chase/crash/skiing scene in cinematic history - it trumps Bullit and James Bond.

That's... quite a claim...

I wonder how much the studio paid Tara to make that review, i take online reviews with a grain of salt like online game reviews. If you say too many bad things they won't let you see it/test it early and you're out a job.

Damn yous, boredom and being separated from family makes you do desperate things, like go watch a movie that has huge plot holes...
I heard the billionaire/millionaire Sachs is trying to become richer by gassing the city like the Lizard in ASM. Anyways, he chooses the clandestine location of his HQ building to have the gas erupt from...you know ICOGNITO!
:lol

I don't see this making enough to justify a sequel...reminding me of the sad tale of Dredd :(

I'm interested to see how it does over the weekend. I'm still refusing to see it because I refuse to watch any Bay film in theaters. I'm hoping it will tank, but I know that won't be the case because they've been advertising hard for half a year.

They've only been advertising hard for like a month. Until then, if one didn't already know they were making this movie, then that was one's first time hearing about it. I'm not sure when the first poster was released, but the first teaser trailer didn't come out until 4 months ago and since then I've been to quite a few movies and don't recall ever seeing a trailer for this. Not saying it will or wont tank, but a half a year of hard advertising, there was not. And I would go to see the movie this weekend, but I am p**s poor until next week.

the really sad and amazing part of this is, that people who have had NO interest in the turtles before, suddenly either think this movie is 'cool' or are starting to talk about it. I was SHOCKED when I heard it mentioned on the CBS morning show. the guy is well above his 50s, way past the target audience, not a fan, and even he thinks it's interesting to bring it up now. It's just kind of sad that people will go to this thing thinking it's good, when it's got less heart than the ninja turtles stage tour.

I'll be perfectly happy if this doesn't' get a sequel. I'll be making sure my kids and their friends see the 80s and 90s turtles and not this garbage.

Thanks internet, my timing was off. Regardless, they have been advertising HARD. I've seen those terrible turtles everywhere for at least a month. Everywhere. So it seems like 6 months... even if it hasn't been. That could be exasperated by my fervent hatred of Bay films.

Yeah, it was sold out at my theaters on Friday (when I went to see GotG for the fourth time). It'll make a lot of money because from what I saw the majority of people going to see Turtles were families. I had a slight interest earlier this summer of seeing it, but since seeing Guardians, I'd much rather give that a couple more viewings than see this in the theater.

Like this movie's success was ever in question? It was already a hit before they started filming it. Just the right show at the right time.

just firmly believe most fans either missed the 2007 movie altogether, or there are alot of Michael Bay Followers. I can see most people giving this a shot on opening week, but I hop ethat word of mouth from actual movie goers and not critics will cause it too drop off fast.

God Dang it. Sequel is announced. well, I guess there's no need to wait anymore. more of this regurgitated crap is coming,so, might as well go see it just to cry myself to sleep.

The bolded was the case when my family and I went to see Guardians lol. All the TMNT shows were sold out before 6pm.
