Teaser: My new lightsaber "working" blade

"Bought some defective MR sabers for $30 "

Where did you get them for so cheap? :eek
I've been watching ebay and they're always more then that.

later, Barry.

Ebay has them anywhere from $30-$50 for defective ones. I got 2 in and they werent totally busted, one actually works half the time. :lol At the very least you get a cheap hilt...

I can't wait to get my hands on some of those blades, though I would also prefer the narrower tube. I have some Larbels that need electronics.

I didn't know Hyperdyne was a Gator. Me too - Aerospace, class of 1991.

GO GATORS.

MBM

mbm, cool. Man, we could of been in a couple classes together and not even known it. :)

EE here, '92.

At any rate, I swapped out the blue blade and went back to red for my Vader. Will be putting the blue in a ROTS anakin hilt.

Here is a quick pic I snapped last night of the red and green blades, FWIW.

I still have one of Larbel's plasma sabers from the first run. It's the style O, with a blue blade, and it's so bright it hurts my eyes at times. It's great to know that you've come up with something brighter than plasma. I wasn't sure that it was possible, but you proved it. It sounds funny, but you might have to put a vision warning on each order, or people might start going blind(LOL).

everytime this thread gets bumped i fill with anticipation, thinking when i open it it will have a post from HD saying the first run is ready to ship.

but alas... we continue the wait. :(

like everyone else said awesome and yes i want one. (or 4)

Jim,

I've been watching this thread with great interest. As to the films - the choreography needs work but the special effects are amazing. ;)

Man oh man I can't wait until this become available. The fact the blades are removeable makes them all the cooler.

Waz aka Ron

We certainly didnt do the films with choreography in mind, that is for another day. :love

Sorry for the delays. But no news is good news. Its manufacturing, manufacturing, and more manufacturing right now. :thumbsup

All the design and boards are finally completed, and the first blades are being manufactured now. We came across some stronger materials too and are now retrofitting them into our existing design. It should make things even stronger - enough to handle herculian-type blade impacts. :lol

Plus these new blades may be part of a licensed event soon.. Very exciting stuff in the works. B)

Can you give us some details on this licensed event, or is it one of those things where you could tell us but you'd have to kill us??? LOL

Man I wish these were compatable with parks hilts.

I too get excited everytime I see this thread bump.

patience........

Well I cant release details right now but I hope to soon enough. I am quite excited about it and cant wait to see the final results.

BTW, I should have the first batch of blade boards done next week. Next up are the driver boards. Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

The green hilt is an old MR Anakin EL hilt.

No, these will not be less than a force fx. I dont make these in huge quantities and dont use cheap Chinese manufacturing. These have to undergo rigorous QC and are made in the USA by hand. Plus these blade kits have many features not seen in any other saber blade out there, so its hard to compare apples to apples.

I will also be releasing another major feature of the saber very soon.

aww
you are no longer the learner but now the master.
Great work as always.. Can't wait for the "other" thread to pop up.
What about a "Sting" sword from LOTR?

so how would one obtain a hyperdyne blade? would it require self assembly??
im no good with electronics :p

what will be that feature, like vibrating the hilt? having that light flicker when it hits another blade. what would be sweet if you hit another blade and u held ur blade on his, then both of the blades got really birght white where the blades touch.
